First off, deer hunting is not natural to everyone. But in my experience there are two types of deer killers:
1. the "naturals". These guys kill deer left and right. You ask them what they're doing and they make vague gestures and shrug, then say something stupid like " I just avoid pressure"...
Dude, congrats on finding the buck. You really put in the work. And thanks for taking your lumps on here with the whole story. I've seen some really good looking arrows turn into lost animals before, and sometimes a bad shot you wind up getting lucky.
What makes you think the extra half inch of cut (and three cutting planes instead of one) wouldn't make a difference on marginal shots? It only takes one good artery nick to change the situation. Sharp blades and well tuned bow with a little arrow weight is way more important for penetration if...
I hope you went in and stuck another one in him. No need to tell us if you did that... sometimes the letter and spirit of the law aren't quite aligned.
All that said... I do not understand why folks insist on shooting narrow two blades at whitetail deer with modern compound bows pulling a...
I just hunt with mine... clean/oil it before a trip, tape the barrel, don't put it in a case if it's wet, and don't forget to clean it after. Might wipe it down in the evening if it really got banged around.

Besides that, you don't *need* to shoot the...
Nice buck! As to your initial posts... If you read the rules, Rokslide does not allow any unit specific posts. This is to prevent spot burning, which tends to result in declining units due to overpressure.
I can testify firsthand to the frustration when my family buys me the wrong outdoor gear. However... if you get him the right gift without asking him, he will LOVE it. The trick is to figure out what he actually wants that he isn't quite willing to spend the money on.
First think I'd check is...
I think you're barking up the wrong tree thinking the broadhead is to blame. Shit just happens.
I've put a (sharp) 4 blade Magnus stinger into a deer's vital V and had zero blood for the 60-70 yards it took him to die on a dead run.
Shot a bull elk with a 2" wide Simmons Land Shark and...
