Out of those choices I’d go with the 1-8. Too much magnification can be a real problem at close ranges. But I’d have to agree with above. 3-9 or something similar would be what I’d look for in those applications. Some people think more magnification is always better and that’s simply not the...
Wow luck must be on my side this spring. Drew 1st choice NM archery mulie tag and now getting lucky a second time! Doing everything I can (including participating in this challenge) to make sure the luck keeps coming in September. Thanks admin, mods, and sponsors for putting this on. I know it...
New guy here… Any moderators accepting bribes to make sure I get those Iron Will broadheads I just know I’m gonna draw?? Haha thankful I got to take part in this fun challenge. Some dang good archers participating!
I’m late to this thread and a bit off topic but the mentioned bill passed. Total cost for non-residents to deer hunt will be $708. That’s a $208 small game license & $500 deer license per method of take. I will say Oklahoma public gets hit hard by non-res. OK has become a destination hunting...
Outdoor Life did an in-depth article on how this plan is supposed to work. Captive-bred deer that landowners will have the opportunity to buy and release on their properties. I don’t know how I feel about it yet.
I just found this thread but was going to ask Since I'm considering one.. The Midas shows to give angle compensation readings. Was it just too slow or what?
I agree with the others. I would either go with a HIT insert or upgrade to Victory’s stainless steel insert. The aluminum half outs work fine until they bend when you accidentally skip an arrow off the ground. I’ve tried everything to try and get a couple bent inserts out of my arrows and can’t...
I don’t think I could sit through another podcast listening to Matt Rinella crying about literally anything he doesn’t agree with. My perspective is the NM EPlus system can certainly be improved but overall gives landowners and non-landowner hunters more hunting opportunity. Landowners benefit...
Any update on your new strings? Just put a new set of launch strings/cables on my VTM a couple weeks ago and have been happy with them so far but haven’t had long enough to really put through the ringer.

5/12- Beautiful calm morning. Shot broke clean but landed a little wider than I’d like. Dead deer.
5/13- Light breeze, nothing worth...
Shoot what’s comfortable for you! 270 will do the job just fine. A good sharp broadhead with a reasonable cutting diameter (not outrageously large) will smoke em.
I haven’t shot an elk with this setup yet. That being said after shooting 2 deer with a 410gr arrow @283fps through 2 large bodied deer I wouldn’t hesitate to. Both shots quartering away and both shots got complete pass through hitting opposite side shoulder blade. As with any arrow weight you...
