High pressure signs on “average charge loads”?

As many others on here have already said, it’s likely the Hornady brass. Same thing happened with my Hornady brass. Barely even mid range load, and ejector marks along with extractor marks start showing up. Chased it around for awhile and then bought some cheap Winchester brass. Problem gone...

300 WSM Brass

I am running WIN brass. Does it need more work in the beginning, yes. But I don’t mind it, especially for the price. I tried Hornady before and it is way to soft (ie early pressure signs at the low end of the powder range).

ES/SD vs Group Size

And that is my dilemma. I shot a group about a month ago at 200yds that was 0.65 MOA with acceptable ES/SD for hunting. Figured this trip to the range I would check it without the Magnetospeed to verify any POI shift. Well, that group ended up being the worst of the day. Put Magnetospeed back on...

I couldn’t capture it on the screen shot, but each row related to a different charge weight. Normally I run 5 shot strings, but I have to let the barrel cool longer, and it’s getting close to our annual hunting trip, so trying to minimize brass usage on load development.

Tikka Speeds w/Factory Loads

T3X 300WSM 20” barrel with suppressor 175gr LRX Winchester Brass 67.2gr RL16 WLRM primer 2.225” CBTO 2980 fps w/ Magnetospeed Could’ve kept going past 68.5gr at 3030 fps but ran out of room for powder.

Are Tikka barrels slow?

I have a Tikka T3x 300wsm cut down to 20” for suppressor. With 65.7gr of H4350 and 175gr LRX, I am getting 2950 FPS. I can go to 67.7gr and get 3020 FPS, but the lighter load is grouping better.
