Either they are being proactive with a fast twist 7mm Rem Mag or it is as you say and actually a 7 PRC. Hard to say what I’d prefer as I’m not seeing much 7 PRC ammo or brass available, and if I have to hand load I could just put high bc 7mm bullets in the fast twist 7 Rem mag anyway.
I found them listed as coming soon on Midway USA and a current offering on Sportsman's Warehouse and Bud's. See links below. Can't be an error with that many, right? The 300 Win Mag is listed with CF 24" barrel and adjustable stock at 8.12 lbs.
I haven't been able to find a press release, and...
I’ve looked through Swarovski Companions (8 or 10 x30, I can’t remember) and the new NL Pure 10x32. How do these compare if you have done the same or can venture a guess?
Benchmade Steep Country 15006 Orange. "First Production" Stamp. $105. Lightly used for one season. PM if interested. Would trade for Buck 103 Skinner with D2 or S35VN blade, or Buck 656 Pursuit Pro, or Knives of Alaska Elk Hunter or similar. PM to inquire. Would prefer to trade in person (Magic...
My dad has an early 2000s 300 WSM from them, which may be from when they only did custom orders. Not sure when they started the current model lines. Anyway I think his is most similar to the Carbon Classic like yours. The thing is an absolute killer, and no one in the family chooses anything...
First ever new thread for me, here it goes.
The new rifle (Image #1 with Model 70 Featherweight in 270) with with thread protector installed weighs 6lb 4.8 oz. I mounted a 4-12x40mm Vortex Viper (16 oz) with X-Low DNZ Game Reaper mounts (2.9 oz). Scope clearance was perfect at about 2mm...
I've watched my dad (68 y.o .) go through a big change from deer and elk hunting every year and going on some international hunts to basically not hunting. In no particular order some factors:
Physical endurance really falling off in the last 5 years even though he's healthy overall
A lot...
Looks like the 300 WSM is still in stock. I ordered some. It's really hard to find bonded 180 grain loads for anything close to $50. My model 70 groups their .270 whitetail load at about MOA, and the quality of the brass appears to be high. Thanks for starting this thread there's not much out...
That all makes a lot of sense. I bet those noslers will shoot really well. My XPR loves the 180 grain federal Trophy Bonded Tip. I think everyone is very justified in saying your 308 load will be extremely deadly on broadside shots out to your comfort level of 300 to 400 yards. I personally like...
I'll second what a few others have said. I'd be very hesitant to refinance if it takes your loans out of the federal servicer realm (even if said servicer sucks) and sells them to a private party.
Did you get a chance to try other loads in the XPR? My 300 WSM XPR loves everything Federal, is good with Remington, and really didn't like the Hornady or Win loads. This is probably not at all helpful with the current ammo environment but I'm curious about your experience. I love the 300 WSM...
I've been reading great things about the entire line, so I appreciate your vote of confidence. Of course there are a few negative stories, but on the whole Im feeling like I should snatch it up.
As an aside, last year we visited the smokies for the first time. If your name is any indication...
This is an excellent perspective, thank you. If you grade it above the T3 and 110, that makes it very interesting to me indeed. My wife wasn't too excited about the price tag on the M70 EW or the Extreme Tungsten that seems to be slated to replace it. The stainless or cerakote would be nice but...
