Will be 70 in a few months and have been hunting sheep for over 50 yrs. . on numerous hunts i have gone solo planning my next stone sheep hunt in 2024 which will be a solo hunt.
I'm not sure i would say the following two items are unconventional but they are items i always pack which are 3 x 4 liter plastic juice bottles for water. I press them flat and blow them out when i need them. As well i also pack super lite camp shoes. rest of my gear is fairly standard, My...
im sure your list will get refined . ive been hunting sheep for 50 years so im fairly dialed in as to what i take. As to shelters i use a tent and take a siltarp which i use for those occasions should i be away from the tent a day or two. Not a big fan of bivi for sheep hunting myself...
check out the CARSON line of optics they make awesome bino's. My son has the 10 x 42 and they are fantastic . They price under 300 .00. This year i used them in the mountains sheep hunting and found them to be comfortable to use no eye strain and light. Im a swarovski guy not up to their...
Just came back from my stone sheep- hunt. second season with my lowa tibet gtx .Put on serious miles and elevation up and down with no Blisters and the boots are still in good shape. highly recommend.
check out the carson spotting scope . My son has their binoculars and spotting scope and i was impressed. \i believe the spotting scope was 200.00 and similar for the binoculars.
With all due respect there is nop comparison re hunting white tail/ elk and stone sheep. Stone sheep far more involved and difficult that elk and whitetail. From habitat to hunting style. i think i can say that with confidence having hunted stone sheep for over 50 years

I think a tent proves itself when its at the outside envelope of its capabilities. No question when it comes to the hilliberg it can withstand incredibly high winds and severe rain. In my hilliberg tent 4 season I've experienced winds in the 50 mph plus range torrential rains while sheep...
i have used the same 10X42 swarovski binaucs for 30 years a little on the heavy side but come that first part of sunup or late sundown with little light they prove there worth. I mostly hunt sheep and i can say that the optics can make or break a sheep hunt.
I've hunted with the same rifle for 40 years a 7mm mag husquavarna with swarovski 3 x 9 scope. I mostly hunt sheep but its also my go to rifle for moose and elk.
