Technically the uphill truck has the right of way and the downhill moving truck should pull over or back up.
Hopefully common curiosity prevails and downhill could go if they have a trailer or if the uphill truck has an easy spot to pull into.
I've had to do both (due to inconsiderate DH drivers, me being the downhill driver, or me seeing a good spot jus behind me as an UH driver) - on some pretty aggressive 4x4 trails. I would say it's overall easier to back uphill than downhill. Typically you can see a rig coming and jump into a...
I ran a horizontal 5 pin for a long time - about 5 years ago I went to a single pin slider. Great for 3D and tree stand hunting - not great in the backcountry.
This year I went back to a 4 pin (horizontal mounts) on my slider sight. I should've done this years ago. I'm set for 30/40/50/60...
are you getting you pack set to transfer as much load as possible to your hips? If it's shoulder heavy that might be causing some of the issues? I'm pretty new with these heavy duty frame packs - have had my share of internal frame/backpacking packs on though.
This has been a solid thread for me to get ideas on. For a long time I was using a 30L non frame pack which works pretty well, but now that I'm chasing elk and doing more backcountry/backpack hunts I wanted a frame pack.
I was very torn on size, ended up ordering a MR Beartooth 80 (85L/5185...
You should be able to - I've seen a lot of spot hogg scopes on axcel sights. There is a chance you might need to get an Axcel barrel or make a barrel collar, if the B3 is a different diameter.
I'm assuming you're looking at something like this because Accustats are hard to find...
I boil water and put into my nalgene and stuff that into a sock. Holds temperature great all night. I also pack my puffy and anything else to fill air voids - I've stayed warm on a 0 degree night at 12k in my 15 degree bag by doing this - usually I sleep pretty cold too.
I will be out the same week. I'm planning to have some orange with (on backpack + hat or something).
I typically cow call and will have a bugle tube, but likely won't touch it too much. Just be smart - if you're seeing a lot of ML hunters put on a bit more orange.
I'm relatively new to CO hunting and go a draw tag last year. I hunted for 5 days and found one lone bull (couldn't get a shot off but that's a cool experience in it's own).
Ran into a couple older guys muzzleloader hunting. They had been hunting the same area for years and also commented on...
If you're going for a few days, I like to have two water treatment options (filter + tabs). A little whiskey might be a great treat after a few nights.
ML season is when I was able to swing time off this year with work - so it'll be what it'll be. I'm still pretty green to archery elk hunting though, so any field time is better than no time!
