    Leupold Engineer's Comment on Tracking.

My Dad always pecked on the Weaver turrets with a screwdriver handle after adjusting.

    Best bino under $600

I think there are alot of options, as suggested. I keep a pair of Minox in my truck that are quite impressive for this price range.

    Vortex Razor HD vs UHD

It's important to understand that one of the reasons UHD's are so good is the superior AK prisms, which by virtue of design, make them larger than most roof prism binoculars with the conventional SP prisms (like the Razor HD's). The weight of the UHD's is not bad in my opinion. I've always...

    Vortex Razor HD vs UHD

UHD's are outstanding. Buy used or refurbished and save a bundle.

Vortex Has Raised the CS Bar Even Higher

Vortex has come a long way and it is certainly paying off. The US government recently entered into a nearly $3 billion contract with Vortex to manufacture some of the most advanced small arms optics ever made. This stuff was rigorously tested and is made in the USA. You get what you pay for...

Vortex razor compared to Swarovski line

If you were blindfolded, I doubt you could see a difference between any of these.

Best binoc for glassing into the sun?

Any good quality binoculars should effectively reduce glare when looking toward the sun, but not into it. I recall 20 years ago a buddy and I compared my SLC's with his Trinovid BN's, looking toward the sun and into the shadows beneath. I thought both performed well and neither of us really...

    Swarovski NL pure 10x42

Thanks for the update! FOV is amazing and I think the NL Pures are the best there is! I really like the UHD's and agree there's no reason to pay retail.

Leupold Freedom VS Vortex Diamondback HP

You get what you pay for on this business. Vortex has come a long way and their high end optics are excellent. The US Government recently contracted with Vortex to manufacture small arms optics systems for the military at a cost of 2.7 billion dollars. These scopes represent some of the most...

    Sub $800 Binos?

Zeiss Conquest HD 10x42's can be purchased in new or like new condition for $800 or less just about all the time, with minimal effort. You will likely spend 50% more to get a better pair of binoculars, and need to make a direct A/B comparison to tell a difference.

    Swaro Bino Upgrade

With most alpha level binoculars, I rarely see much difference unless I directly compare one against another.

    Swaro Bino Upgrade

You might also try a pair of the SLC HD's against your NEU's. I have not compared them but understand the HD's have better optics.

    Whats the best of Vortex?

I would suggest your experience is not typical. I have dealt with optical warranties since the 1970's. Vortex was the best. They are very prompt and even pay the shipping.

    Whats the best of Vortex?

You get what you pay for in this business, which includes Vortex. Their current Razor line is outstanding.

If you end up with the NL Pures, let us know how they compare and if you think they are worth the additional $1500 over the UHD's.

What scope for my 375 H&H

The .375 H&H Magnum is one of the most inherently accurate cartridges I have ever known. If a big game hunter could only have one cartridge, this should likely be the one. My 375 always wore a 4X Leupold.

What magnification when pulling the trigger?

One thing worth mentioning might be that variable power scopes lacked reliability in the old days compared to fixed power scopes. I'm not sure what's going on today. I read alot of horror stories on this forum about modern scope reliability. I like the .270 as well, but wonder if it would...

What magnification when pulling the trigger?

It's probably a good thing George Farr wasn't in disbelief at Wimbledon back in 1921 when at age 62, he effectively fired 70 straight bullseyes at 1000 yards with an iron sighted 1903 Springfield service rifle loaded with service ammo. Long range range shooting is nothing new. O'Connor chose...
