From my testing the Pnuma Selkirk was the winner on the noise category is pretty quiet.
I posted the measurements search my name.
I’m on the cell phone so is harder for me to find and post them here.
It runs small size up.
The Nomad fit more loose the Axis is a bit more athletic. Also due to...
Good you finally got the Nomad.
Also great to know I’m not the only one that came with that conclusion on the Jetstream comparo. The Nomad is really underrated. They just don’t market it as 100% windproof jacket but it should be.
I dint tried the Filson as it seemed thin and from what I...
I have not pack them up in their pocket.
Would do that and post a picture.
But I’m pretty sure the Down would beat the synthetic. Would also weight them up once packet only down is they have the tags.
I just got the synthetic in XL and it fit me better around the waist. I say a small amount of...
You have a good selection.
Would like to read your opinion on the Nomad.
It feels similar to the Jetstream but at a much better price. It also have huge pockets.
I just wish the Nomad had a thicker backer but all this soft shell have thin fleece backer.
If the Pnuma fit you is a great jacket...
I ordered the Trek in Down and synthetic.
Both in L.
The Down fit much better on the athletic side.
The Synthetic is much more tighter specially around the waist I was able to zip it but I can feel the tightness.
So I ordered a synthetic in XL to see how it fit. Should be here this week or...
Did you end up getting the synthetic or down version?
I recently ordered the two and I feel the synthetic to be warmer. I also feel the synthetic is using a different inner layer as is harder to pass air through it.

What other pieces you have?
I still think is a great soft shell, I don’t want to call it waterproof but I was not able to force water to pass on the inside.
And air, once you get it blow air you be surprised how air tight this thing is.
I just wish it came in black.
Something I noticed...
Hello,
I had them both for a little while not used outside so no real test mostly impression.
I guess part of the weight is also the Guide have more pockets.
if there is No wind they should be about equal, but if there any wind the Axis would wind easily.
You could do the test, place the...
The good thing it have the biggest pit zips of all the jackets.
I did not test to see the second place but the Nomad is easy the 1st.
Breathability - I suspect it should be on part with the Jetstream and Axis. I have no way to test that.
And is warmer again so I have not been using it.
But...
The black is the Axis, brown Guide DCS.
They are pretty similar once you have them one.
The big difference is the waist area, the Guide is smaller. And also on the front, the Guide is shorter, the back there pretty even. Chest area I say they even as well.
Nomad Barrier NXT - Large
KUIU...
Yes, I looked at it, but the hand pocket location seems too high for my liking. As is made for the backpack belt. And that's why I dint even ordered it.
That is one of my dislikes about the Axis.
I got the most popular ones sold in solid colors. But I'm done :)
I would post photos of them one...
Update:
I ended up keeping the Axis the one I said I would not recommend based on the main zipper catching the double fabric at the top, now it feels easier to close but you can still feel that.
Basically, kept it because of the good windproof / air pressure test / waterproof on some areas and...
Selkirk fit good only the upper body including the arms
The lower area waist is the tightest but is also size Medium.
would update the table to add the Selkirk, for those that wonder is the quietest so far 44.5dBA. I just wish it came in solid color not 100% sold in camo for everyday use.
Some more photos for those that like pics.
Pnuma Selkirk
The arm sleeve has that lining that is NOT as thick as the rest of the grid fleece.
The hand pocket won't be as warm as the waypoint: no thick lining, but because is windproof it should be better.
____
Jetstream fit good
Axis fits...
If weight is a good indicator then it might actually be less warm but it should not be by that much.
I have a hard time telling a difference in lining thickness between the Kuiu Axis and Sitka Jetstream. Those weight about 4 more Ounces than the Gamma.
As of right now I would place them...
The ones I saw don’t have a full zipper.
I would prefer a full front zipper.
Apparently those options from KUIU are also fairly good when used on their own.
At this point I’m not sure if I am missing any other brand with a possible option, I guess I’m to picky.
But so far some have the hand...
Update:
Received the Selkirk in Medium
Quick impression.
The upper torso fit much better the lower waist area I think is to tight hard to fit my fist. Would double check how it feel compare to the other later.
This one passed the blow air test while his brother the Waypoint failed.
So I guess...
Thanks,
Just ordered would post back once I get it.
Something that not 100% clear is that some places say the Selkirk is warmer others the Waypoint don’t remember where I read that or if it was a YouTube video.
But either way it should still be warmer than the Jetstream and similar soft shells...
If you see this before I order do they run big?
The waypoint run plenty big, I have the Large.
Was going to switch for a Medium but not anymore, as I would order the Selkirk.

O wow that a great price to try the Selkirk.
Even that I was not looking for a camouflage color.
It just weird with Pnuma their color selection on their page don’t offer that color, and my Waypoint is also a different color.
If the Selkirk is built like the waypoint and is truly windproof is...
