All 4 quarters from a nice 5 pt bull (bone in) hung about 8ft off the ground with a Pack-A-Pull ultralight block and tackle. Simple to use, super small and light weight!

Key to pulling hard on the small diameter cord is to use a sturdy stick as a T handle. Just wrap the cord around it a few times and hold where the cord is wrapped. Works amazing and so simple.
Assuming you mean Pack-A-Pull... 7/64” Dyneema for the mainline in the tree is recommended. It’s rated at 1600lbs which is about 320lb safe working load limit and this cord does not stretch. Mil-Spec 550 Paracord is typically sufficient for the lifting lines, which is the sections over the...
Not to Answer for them... and in regards to if it’s better or not, I’ll leave that to each of their own depending on the intended purpose.
Pack-A-Pull will reduce the amount of cord needed For hanging mutiple loads since it turns 1 set of hardware into 2 hoists with 1 mainline in the tree...
So total weight is around 6oz for hardware and about $80 for that hardware setup...?
In comparison to the Pack-A-Pull block and tackle which is 4oz including the storage bag and a throw bag for getting it hung in the tree. Plus Pack-A-Pull will work as 2 hoists in 1. Meaning one set of...
Both are great pants. I have 2 pairs of Kuiu attack pants and love them. I use them for all seasons, hot to cold. The zips allow good ventilation when needed and they are amazingly comfortable for me. However, a good friend of mine doesn’t like the fit of the Kuiu Attack because the butt...
I wish the Garmin InReach would also pair with a regular Garmin GPS too. This way you could use the InReach and sync all the data to the GPS. Would be handy for going back and forth between devices. If this is possible, please someone let me know how.
Similar to another FNG post... Time to introduce myself. Been on here since 2014 but haven’t been very active. Mostly just been digestion info from others.
I’m Roy from Idaho. I’m a mechanical Engineer at a large company in Idaho, going on 21 years now. I also have a small business that I...
I havce the older XC522 and like it with my 65mm spotter. It’s not rock solid in wind, has some shake seen in videos I’ve taken on windy days, but not bad. I’m excited to see the newer version as well.
Personally like the shorter ones for a good height to glass while seated (either directly...
I like both for same reasons as others have said. But also worth noting the display on most phones is way better than any GPS that I’ve seen. Advantages there for sure. I’ve now transitioned primarily using my Garmin InReach with maps on my phone. Just gotta keep the phone in airplane mode...
Two independent loads
Using 3 lightweight carabineers is a good solution for lifting a single load. Still more friction than having actual pulleys - but is better than friction directly over the limb. However, the hoist (Pack-A-Pull) in this video shared by Eagle is for two loads with 4...
I am a sportsman from Idaho with a focus on archery elk and do a lot of it solo. I have designed and built a super light weight backcountry pulley system that fits in the palm of your hand. It enables one person to hang game meat or food and gear high off the ground in the backcountry. I call...
