We had a button buck one year that was similar we called Frosty. His hide looked like he had the dilute gene like my Silver and charcoal labs do. We never saw him again after his button season though.
I had a buddy leave his Binos/harness laying in the parking lot at a Colorado trail head last year. We sure with that finder was as much of a stand up guy as this poster. Good man.
The Bear Grizzly is the F150 of trad bows. Not fancy, but work as advertised. I've owned and used several, and would not hesitate to buy another if the price was right. I have no experience with the newer Bears, but a vintage 1960-70 bow will serve you well if you can find one.
Columbia used to make a great, inexpensive line of wool hunting clothes that I've been using for many years. Unfortunately the only place to find them now is Ebay basically. My wool flannels are all either Woolrich or LL Bean. Again, mostly from Ebay. There's also Sleeping Indian, King of the...
I don't know if you have anything comparable on the west coast, but if there are any trad shoots like Compton's or ETAR in the east, you can find all the bows you could possibly want either in the tents or on the trade blankets. The blankets are where the deals are, and usually the owners will...
I bought a brick of Herters large rifle mag primers off a guy last summer. The box is marked 1968. Shot about 100 of them so far and they match the Velocity I’m getting with my 20+ year old 9 1/2 mag primers in my 7mm RM. Beat that! Haha
Did you charge it daily? I realize temperature can affect battery life. These were tested in my house with tap water. The first one I had got 4 cycles before the battery light came on. Charged overnight and got 6 before the light came on. The second one I got 11 on the first charge. 8 on the...
I've gone through 2 now and know from other forums that others are having the same issue. The rechargable Ultralight is only good for less than a dozen cycles before saying it needs recharging. I ran mine through a couple 24 hour charging cycles and both times I got less that 12 cycles. The...
you can split a lot of wood for those little stoves with a cheap Mora and a stick for a baton. It's not like you're splitting 18" oak rounds. There's also some LED light strings (like Christmas lights) that charge off a USB power bank that will save you some ounces.
Whatever you do, don't name it the same as some woman you knew before your wife. Reach way back and make certain there's no remote connection, because eventually it WILL come out and there will be hell to pay.
