Does the wind swirl in your spot? My stand is near the corner of two perpendicular tree lines and even with a favorable wind, it will swirl directly to unintended areas
I like the path you’re on. I think it’ll be a sweet setup.
Who makes stocks for Mausers? Boyd’s? Not sure what weight you’re looking to hit in your quest for light weight but that may be hard to achieve when starting with a Mauser vs something with more aftermarket availability

I do like the looks of this stock. Wish it came in a tikka inlet so I could compare to the rokstok when that comes in
I wouldn’t alter an heirloom rifle in general personally but I also completely understand the viewpoint of “at least it’s getting used and not in the safe”. If it were me I’d just buy a different rifle for suppressing vs chopping/threading my dad’s.
A suppressed centerfire sounds similar to...
This sounds like something that should be left alone and not threaded imo.
If your hearing loss is that bad a suppressor will help but I’d recommend wearing ear plugs with it.
I’m all for suppressors (they’re the best gun purchase I’ve ever made) but in all honesty as little as your shoot, it...
Easy button is probably a Larue or JP but both are pretty expensive. I’ve got a Sgt of arms 6.5 grendel that shoots lights out. At the ranges you’re talking about a 556 would work just fine and would be very cheap for burning brass.
This is the answer. Your time loading 100 rounds is worth more than the $10 in savings. Then when you reload that brass you’ll be saving a bigger chunk that is more worth it.
Went to take pics of how it turned out and was reminded that the spacing Stockys provided was slightly off and the linked rail wouldn’t work. I ended up having to get an area 419 rail that had more leeway in spacing.
It fits up pretty nice though.
When I bought mine I added a comment in the notes section to add a second sling stud @3” spacing. When it came in I just removed the sling studs and added a rail with 3” spacing
You could diy that pretty easily
This is the rail I used...
175 Berger would work but I’d probably pick the 162 eldm for that set up. Velocity would be great for a good ways out and they’ve performed well on game for a lot of folks.
This is pretty slow for a 7prc unless you’re shooting Hornady factory ammo. With the right powder combo you should be able...
