I concur. They are out there especially if you pick a caliber that is not the new rage. Anything in 6.5 or PRC will be more expensive than 270, 30-06 or 308 in the same gun.
I agree with AZ hunter. I have the 55 but don't use it to glass. It is used for confirmation and a closer look. I like the 55 for weight and size. But when I anticipate long glassing sessions it is either 10x or 12x. I have some 15x but they tend to be used only when hunting desert and...
If you don't mind me asking why Schnees over the Wild Rock? Like you, there are times I want a little more insulation but I have a hard time giving up the Nevadas as they are so comfortable. I might try alpaca socks this season to see if that helps. Otherwise, I might be looking for another boot.
Thanks... I agree that for most hunting scenarios, most shots will be 200 or less. I love the caliber and think it is under rated. With everyone talking about the 6.5 variants, I have been returning to the classics.
I bought the waypoint but returned it as it was heavier than I expected. It is a soft shell and I really didn't need insulation. I was looking for a windproof outer layer for late season hunts.
I bought the Selkirk when Camofire had it on sale for $130 in Terra. I am not crazy about the...
Read on a reloading forum that people were using the Harbor Freight 3 drawer wood work bench. I got one on sale for 99 bucks - best $99 I have spent and cheaper than making one (even if it is from China).

No doubt. Had that happen one time. My brother, who taught me how to reload, always said not to reload more than 5 for testing so as not to waste the time and resources if something went wrong.
Anyone tried any all cooper bullets? My guess is that there may be expansion problems given the velocity at longer ranges. While 150s and 180s cup and core are the go to pills, has anyone tried 130 gr?
Definitely a 700 Remington Classic. It is shows a fair amount of use and know it was one of my Dad's first guns. I wish I knew more of the background of it as it almost looks like it was handed down from my grandfather.
MTPipeliner - just my luck. A day late and a dollar short 😂
If you run across any other ammo you want to get rid of in the future, post it up and I bet there will be 1/2 a dozen people on this forum that will buy it.
I agree. If I had a Model 99 definitely wouldn't load hot. With that bottle neck cartridge and the 99 extractor, I've read that the case will stick on hot loads. With a bolt action, it apparently is less of a problem.
