I got a few hills in Canada during a winter hunt and the meat was good, albeit not as good as moose, but what is?
Early or late hunts likely end up with better meat quality.
I did a trespass fee type hunt with Mirage Outfitters but it was many years ago. It was a great adventure for sure...
@branw33 Ugh…the forum algorithm won’t let me send a message yet. I’ve had an account for a long time but they must have changed the user policy. I’ll try to pm you again in a few days.

@branw33 WY mule deer unit has been on my radar for many years (currently sitting on 11 points). I’d be interested in chatting about the area and your thoughts on the unit of you are willing (assuming by this thread that you hunted it in the fall 2021).
I’ll try to send a pm to you. Thanks...
Thanks a great idea! I’ve always wanted to try snowshoeing. I’ll bet it is a great workout. Lots of snow on the ground now and the time is right. Any suggestions on a snow shoe model for beginners?

Wow lots of Yinzers here congregating virtually [emoji1787]. Cheers to a good finish to Pa hunting season and to a start of indoor archery leagues. [emoji1303]

I hunted Kodiak in the last week of October 2021 and wore a pair of Hanwag Tatra Top boots with OR Crocodile Gaiters. It was a great combo that proved to be waterproof, comfortable, and durable. Salt water is hard on everything so wax boots accordingly. Get some darn tough socks also and take...
Keep an eye out on auction sites (auction zip.com). I know someone that picked one up for next to nothing (Biro brand). Commercial grade and made to last.
