    4x4 tires for snow

For you guys using Falken Wildpeaks, are you using these on 1/2 ton pickups or 3/4 ton? I've had the 3/4 ton on my work pickup and they were great, but had a co worker tell me the tread is too hard for 1/2 ton pickups. Not sure if I'm overthinking it, or there is validity in his statement...

    Shilen Prethreaded and Chambered Barrels

I was wondering if any of you guys have used the Shilen prefit barrels before? I'd be replacing a barrel on an older (1993 model) Remington 700 30-06 rifle. I did a couple quick Google searches and used the search function on here, but didn't seem to find a whole lot of information. Thanks in...

    protective prescription eyewear during hunts

I wear contacts in the field when hunting and rarely use my glasses. That being said, I have to pack in glasses, solution, contact cases and some alcohol wipes. The alcohol wipes are for my hands so I don't get an infection in my eye. At night, I put the solution and contacts in my sleeping bag...

    Crispi Customer service

Mine were leaking in heavy dew conditions. Like rained a couple days ago, it's been cool so the grass is still pretty wet.

    Crispi Customer service

Sounds like they have great customer service all around and I had a great experience with them as well. My Idaho's started leaking and the rand was cracking pretty good right after the 1 year mark and they said they would warrant them. Only concerning thing is that it seems like several of us...

    CO 2nd Season Impressions

Hunted 2nd season mule deer this year in Colorado and thought I'd post and see how other people did during the hunt. I hunted outside of Kremmling and camped around 9000'. I glassed from 10,000' down to 7800' and found all of my deer on the valley floor essentially. I only found does and small...

    Kifaru bag recommendations

The Nomad II has my vote. I've added 2 more compression straps to it with an OGL and Grab it II and I think it's one of the more versatile bags I've ever used.

Anyone ever use a "regular" hiking backpack?

It would seem like your post is you searching for an argument. Buy whatever pack you want and use it. I think the Gregory Denali would work fine. I like my Kifaru because they support all types of hunting, they're a sponsor of the site and the pack fits me and is comfortable.
