I don't agree with this at all. The country of origin does not dictate manufacturing quality and quality control. I've had great luck on a lot of rifle scopes from vortex that are Philippine and china manufactured. For 90% of the rifles out there, they fit the bill. Margin of error in shooters...
I put a viper PST gen 2, 3-15x44 on my wife's 6.5CM. I've liked it alot, my dad had a viper 6.5-20x44 with the capped turrets on his 30-06 for years before he finally switched to open turrets and that scope had decent glass quality, definitely did not seem as crisp as the pst. But it's also a...
I am not thrilled to say I am not a proper break in or clean shooter. For break ins I clean every 10 rounds or so for the first 40 rounds then I clean after every other reload. So 200 rounds and do a clean. I do clean the throat thoroughly.
Thanks guys for all the info, sounds like there is...
Something I never considered but just thought about, is my american is close to 7 years old with 1,500+ rounds through it. And my precision is less than 2 with less than 500 rounds through it. Would that make a difference? How often does velocity increase with barrel life?
I know my precision is about 0.020" longer to the lands compared to the American. That said, they both have some LONG jumps to the lands with the loads above.
I have been reloading a while, and this last year I loaded up some 140gr Berger Elites with 41.5gr IMR4350 & CCI 200's inside Hornady Brass loaded out to 2.825" OAL
We are at roughly 5,000 ft of elevation. I shot the loads out of both a Ruger American Predator 22" barrel and a Ruger Precision...
2019 Ford ranger has been my favorite hunting rig. It's sitting on 33s and a mid travel kit. Super comfortable, 4 doors, and been getting 20mpg as a daily.
Used to be a diesel guy with tons of 2nd gens, just got tired of loud rough riding trucks.
Anybody have experience with a Cooper discover sst? I usually have BFG's or Toyos on my rigs, but I am needing a set of tires for the jeep and thought about trying them in a 33x12.5R17
I would highly recommend not doing the great stuff trick. I tried it on my ruger american and it didn't hardly make a difference. On a howa hogue l stuffed it full of cardboard pieces and got it about 90% full. When I filled it completely it went back to a plastic-y sound, but when I left a...
I use to be the early bird, but now a days I have a tendency to not show up to the unit until opening morning, and plan to stay for longer. I try to pick the middle of longer seasons.
Maybe I just have a tendency to scout where everyone goes for the first day, but I have enjoyed e-scouting as...
