I couldnt find any powder for the last 2 years and switched back to Hodgdon's tripple 7. doesnt seem to be as dirty as the pyrodex use to be. I still use my BH209 nipple also. shoots great. I wont be switching back to 209
I always take a cleaning rod that's longer than the CVA loading rod (shotgun rods are good). It makes it way easier to clean. I've switched to 209 Magnum primers just because they seem to be so much easier to find in my area, and hornady bullets were not great in CVA's. I switched to 250gr...
Awesome bull, with the experience you've had with the PRC do you think its worth the jump compared to the creedmoor? I have a 26" CM that is pushing 130gr Bergers @ 2920, but there is something about the extra velocity from a factory rifle.
The only thing I was nervous about with the sig cross was getting enough velocity. Do you know what you are getting out of your 16" barrel with a 165gr bullet?
I am wondering if maybe I should have put this in the "long range" part of the forum. I am getting a lot of light weight rifle recommendations. I prefer 9lbs +, that's why the lightest rifle I listed is 8.5lbs.
I have definitely considered a Howa barreled action, with a heavy 24" barrel and a...
I own 2 6.5's. No need for another. I want a .308 because I can NEVER find 6.5 bullets locally for reloading, but 30 cals are EVERYWHERE. I have decided on a 308 win. Thank you guys for the concern and the recommendation but I have caliber chosen. Can you guys give examples, experience or...
Not a fan of their stocks. I've enjoyed shooting vertical style grips for so long. I have a couple 30-06's in the "standard" style stocks with the swept grip, and I like them as a offhand, or standing close quarters shot but not for prone.
My wife took over my dedicated long range 6.5CM and hunting rifle this year and I have a hunting coming in January. Decided its time to build a .308 win for my next "do it all" rifle.
At first I was pretty set on a Sig Cross, the 16" barrel, folding stock under $2k just had a lot of good to it...
I finally got a call back from Williams, they said they are 4-5 weeks out, muzzle-loaders.com would be the first ones to receive any, and it would be another week atleast before I would see one. at 6 weeks, I would be only 2 weeks away from the beginning of the hunt. a little too close for...
Hey guys, added a second CVA muzzleloader to the safe for my wife. I've been looking everywhere and cant find a Williams peep in stock. Looking for any decent sight setup for an optima/ wolf/ accura.
