I do out-of-state all the time. The filters are state-to-state, so if I go to Colorado I have to go into my Colorado filters and add "Private Land Ownership". Just because I have it on for my home state doesn't mean it is on when I go to another.
I carry a G20 in a Kenai and am still back-and-forth between 'sandwiched between my bino harness and chest' and 'slung low beneath my bino harness at gut level'. It kind of depends on the hunt.

I would always go with the largest stove that they recommend for the tent. Even a big stove requires lots of tending but less than a smaller stove. A 4-man tipi is a lot of space so it will just take practice to find the sweet spot of laying there putting wood in it to get comfortable.

Maybe not ideal with your bed set up, but i do a lazy move where I keep the tail gate open then close the rear window to pinch a large sheet of netting that drapes over the tailgate. It's ultra easy and an upgrade from being completely closed.

I use a Kenai with my G20 and FHF bino harness. After a lot of trial and error I prefer it slung low (below the bino harness where the bear spray holder would fit) instead of between my chest and the binoculars.
