WTB Sitka Fanatic Bibs and jacket 2xl

Yup. Got them late 2020 and only wore them twice on easy hunts. They are truly like new. Absolutely love em, but I'm moving for work to Texas. It would have to be quite the polar vortex to ever need them down there.

Sitka Boreal Jacket $372 (42% off list) at Eurooptic

Crazy deal on Boreal jacket in Optifade March. They have the bibs at similar price reduction as well. Just ordered XXL, but looks like they have most sizes. Was actually planning on a different jacket combo, but that price was just too good. Thought I’d pass along...

Sitka stratus bibs and equinox midi vs fanatic bibs

Honestly, my Equinox midi pants are most comfortable thing I own. I've been wearing them in my cold basement office damn near every day with a dress shirt and blazer on top for Zoom calls. The tapered legs are sweet for sliding into knee-high rubber boots and layer GREAT under Stratus and...

    Waterproof gloves

I have Stormfront gloves as well and love them.

Cold weather layering for guys that sweat

I have the same issue and a couple changes really helped me. I switched to Sitka Stratus bibs that have double zippers all the way to the hip, so I can unzip bib front and open the legs all the way up on the walk in. Sounds simple but it has made a huge difference. Also, I switched from a...

    Down the Sitka rabbit hole...!

I use Stratus bibs alone (over core base layer ) from 60 - 40. Midi under Stratus bibs 40 - 30, then Fanatic bibs over base down to about 20, then Midi under Fanatic in the teens and below.

Sitka Fanatic and Stratus in the rain

I went full Sitka this year including Fanatic and Stratus sets. LOVE them, but I am unsure how effective the DWR finish actually is when its raining. Obviously I'm going to have to switch to legit rain gear in a downpour, but I am having trouble finding any info about how much mist / light rain...

    What's going on with Sitka?

I have read that hunting numbers were way up this year due to Covid19 -- one of the few things you were actually able to do. I bet they just got slammed this year with some casual hunters gearing back up to hit the woods after a hiatus. But that is just a guess. FWIW, I did send an email to...

    Kuiu vs Sitka gear

I finally fully switched to Sitka this year vs. mixing and matching. Man, expensive but I have never been happier or more comfortable in the deer woods. I wish I had just committed a decade ago. I had a couple Sitka pieces, a couple First Light, a KUIU set, and some misc. Badlands. I can't...

Sitka stratus bibs and equinox midi vs fanatic bibs

I have both Stratus and Fanatic bibs as well as the Equinox midi pants. Like both bibs, but find myself wearing the Stratus a lot more often due to versatility. Generally for me: Stratus bibs alone (over base layer) from 60 - 40. Midi under Stratus bibs 40 - 30, then Fanatic bibs over base...

Good resources for learning to hunt mid-west public land?

Mark Kenyon's Wired to Hunt podcast has a bunch of episodes focusing on public land hunting. I've been hunting whitetails for 30 years -- I learned more in the last year listening to that podcast than I did in the entire 29 years prior. Really, really good content.

Cold feet in the Whitetail Stand

I have gray wolf woolens boot blankets -- bulky but really do keep my feet a lot warmer than the Arctic Shields
