I would because of the draw odds and the location. The learning curve was steep but I can be stubborn about moving around. I should’ve moved more and talked to more people on the mountain. Ultimately this is one of the reasons we were successful. I definitely have a strategy for moose in 7 now...
You’re right, but I’m back with info on that unit. We found moose a day before the hunt opened and apparently when a moose is seen, word gets out and everyone drives out for a look at it:) that bull was 40”+ up a canyon. We stayed there and hunted hard calling and glassing. We saw no moose after...
I drew a moose tag this year in Idaho and have been consistently practicing every day with my bow. I listened to the rokslide podcast and heard all about the Iron Will’s and was impressed I’m changing my arrows and plan on switching to The Iron Will as my budget provides. I would love to try any...
Listen to Remi Warren's Podcast "Cutting the Distance". Remi gives all the secrets away. I met Remi scouting my hunting grounds on notellum mountain in Idaho, I informed him that mule deer were far and few between up there. Later that year he scored a beaut of a buck cause he's relentless, high...
Thank you, will do. Currently half my time is watching moose videos, OnX, and trying to get two weeks or more off in October.
Next is nerding out on Moose calls.
Well if we me and the boys get one and it’s off the road it may be a three day packout. I’ll be careful not to turn my 10 year old son into a road hunter by making him pack to much. Thank you.
The Elk was fuzzy and the kid is nicknamed Fluffy, his hair is fluffy, he doesn’t really respond to pain, he’s kinda tough, like calling a big guy “tiny”. 🤣
We typically hike in and set spike camp up. It’s more about the timing and who’s there than the score of the antlers for us, it’s the friends family harvest and the meat.
I’m in Meridian we will probably head up in June or July to start. Hopefully our family draws some more tags for deer and elk. More to come congrats to you. An Idaho moose tag is a dream come true for us. Should be a great hunt this year. We would like to share our successes with another hunt group.
Okay, finally drew my Idaho Moose tag. I've hunted North and East in Montana of Unit 7 but not in 7 yet just a little fishing on St Joe years ago. I'm scheduling a meeting with the biologist and would appreciate any helpful pointers. I would be willing to give my ELK and Deer tips Quid Pro Quo...
