Kenetrek Mountain Extreme size 11.5. Less than 15 miles on them. They have been on 3 short hikes and around the house to break in (not even broken in yet). Treated with Kenetrek boot conditioner. Bought them for a trip that fell through and probably won’t end up needing them. $350 PayPal F&F or...
I ran into some a bunch of small pistol primers the other day. Gave me some hope that things are improving. Haven't seen large rifle primers on the shelf in over a year though...
I have the Maven CS.1. I really like it for what I do with it, but I don't have experience with Athlon. The Maven I received does have a little resistance in the focus wheel - almost like there is a burr that occasionally rubs. Using it at the highest magnification causes some eye strain due to...
I picked up some 142 ABLRs and recently worked up a load. I'm very impressed with the accuracy - my rifle seems to like them. I have a 1:8" twist and couldn't get Berger 156s under 0.75 MOA. Haven't used the 142s on game yet, but think the bonded bullet should help bridge the gap between...
I'm getting ~2900 with 46.6gr of RL26 with Hornady Brass and Fed 215M primers with only a 21" barrel out of my 6.5 PRC. No pressure signs at all, could definitely push 3000 if I wanted to.
I second the Kenetreks feeling like you're on stilts. I'm right on the border of needing a wide boot. Went with regular width Kenetreks and they are way too narrow. Hoping to move on to a wide set of Schnees to see if that resolves my issues.
That’s a good point… I do have a pair of Salomon hiking shoes that are very comfortable. I wonder if their boots would hold up to tough terrain and heavy packs. Initial thoughts are that I’d want a little more burly of a boot for what I want to do.

I’m curious what those with higher arches are comfortable in for mountain hunting. I’ve tried on a few pairs of Crispi boots, and there was not much arch support. Ive had a pair of Kenetrek Mountain Extremes, and they were better. More arch support (still not quite enough), but my heel rubbed...
Thanks for the info guys! I checked through the other box I had of the same lot number and all looked good there!
Tdhanses- I now see the little etching lines you are talking about. Wondering if they’re some sort of relief for expansion?

Anyone else run into quality issues with Berger 156 EOL bullets? Got down to the last two bullets in the first box of 100 that I’ve used. The first bullet appears to have been mis-formed. The jacket has a large crease in it. I’d be afraid of this bullet flying apart the instant it left the...
