Either would be at (or maybe a little above) the upper end of the price range you mentioned, but I’ve just about decided to move either a Barrett Fieldcraft in 6.5x55 or a Dan Coffin custom (CLR action, Bartlein barrel, NULA stock, Jewell trigger) in 280 AI.
I picked up a Bighorn tent (I think it’s a Bighorn II) at a yard sale, and I would love to find a vestibule for it. If you have one you would part with or know of where I can find one, please let me know.
Thanks!
I’m totally unaffiliated, but there is a modified 6x on the 24hourcampfire classifieds now...

I recently lucked into a Barrett Fieldcraft Special Edition, but I’ve decided to keep my 21” standard Fieldcraft instead (also recently lucked into, on a trade with @kravguy)
The one on the trading block is 6.5 Creedmoor, 22” threaded barrel, green stock, cerakoted black. I’ll add pics later...
The rifle is traded.
The brass (99 pieces, once fired) and new dies are still available.
I’d prefer to trade them for 6.5 or 7mm projectiles, especially 140,147, or 180 ELD or maybe something in the 130g neighborhood in 6.5.
Bergara Premier Approach 300 PRC
Round Count 120
It loves the factory Hornady 225 ELD-M; it routinely shoots in the 0.3”-0.4” neighborhood at 100 yards and holds 1/2 MOA to 600y (farthest I’ve been able to shoot it). It’s getting 2850 FPS with this factory load.
After much deliberation between...
I’ve got a Bergara Premier Approach that I am looking to sell/trade. It bugholes factory 225’s, round count 120. I’ve got once fired brass, an unopened set of Hornady dies, and three more boxes of the Hornady Match 225’s. PM me if you’re interested and I’ll get some more pics to you.
I am looking for a bolt-action with very nicely-figured walnut, chambered in 7mm Rem Mag., preferably, but would also consider other chamberings >.270 Win. This will be a gift for my father.
I’m thinking along the lines of a Kimber Classic Select or Winchester 70 Super Grade, but would consider...
I’ve seen two different used 6.5 PRC Bergara HMR Pro’s on various classifieds for the $900 range recently. I don’t know if folks are frustrated with lack of ammo/components and bailing on them or what, but that’s a steal.
My 6.5 CM HMR Pro is a phenomenal rifle.
+1 on the gun bearer.
It can be used on the belt for quick access, or moved to the back/side of the pack for longer hikes or when you need the gun out of the way. It fits the large buttstocks on most precision rifles just fine, too.
FWIW, with a sample size of two, we really like these Christensens. My Mesa LR 7mmRM is incredibly accurate, and will shoot a sub-0.3 MOA group including a cold-bore shot (which is pretty unusual in my experience).

What you are describing happened to a buddy while we were breaking in his Mesa. It had absolutely nothing to do with the fact it was a CA, but simply a result of a wet chamber from all the cleaning solvent.
He had severe pressure signs from factory ammo, and somewhat sticky bolt...
