Struggling to Achieve a Zero at 100 yards.

Same scope. I have yet to do a tracking test. I will do it tomorrow or next week. Interested to see how it performs.

A weight lifted off my shoulders, for sure!

Struggling to Achieve a Zero at 100 yards.

Yessir! But to be fair this was off bags on a bench! I’m digging that “100-yard rifle test” as a good shooting drill for hunting applications.

Struggling to Achieve a Zero at 100 yards.

BLUF: Sold this gun, and bought a new one that shoots great! All, just wanted to share a bit of good news with you! Based on feedback I was receiving, I sold the .30-06, and purchased a Tikka T3X Lite SS in 6.5 CM. Today I took the rifle out to zero it and shot 3, 5-shot groups using 140...

Low, medium, or high Sportsmatch Size? Leupold vx3i (50mm), Tikka T3X

I went with the HT081 (sportsmatch Tikka High). Here's a couple photos of the clearance. I measure the closest clearance to be about 6 mm. Glad I went with the highs, it would have been CLOSE (~1mm) with the mediums, I think. Again, the scope is a leupold vx3i, 4.5-14, 50mm

    Camofire Carbon Crest Trekking Poles

Thank you. I don’t have a Costco membership, but I see that they are available online. I assume that the Costco model is aluminum: https://cascademountaintech.com/collections/hiking-trekking-poles

Equipment versus practice posts and Rifle practice/shooting

No, it has the accutrigger. Yeah, seems like 50 yards would negate wind drift being a possibility of inaccuracy

Equipment versus practice posts and Rifle practice/shooting

5/20. Lotsa room for improvement. I have a question for you guys. For 10 shots, I'm not able to shoot 2 MOA consistently proned out using bags at 100 yards with my equipment (see below). Usually 10 shots goes 2.5-3 MOA. 1) Should I work on tightening that up, or just keeping shooting the...

Low, medium, or high Sportsmatch Size? Leupold vx3i (50mm), Tikka T3X

Yes, I didn’t specify - It is a 1 inch tube. I’m sure it would matter since 1 inch is about 27mm? Don’t have any direct experience with that. Sounds like I should go with the highs

Low, medium, or high Sportsmatch Size? Leupold vx3i (50mm), Tikka T3X

Which height (low, medium, high) of Sportsmatch rings would work best for the folliwng set-up: Tikka T3x 6.5 CM with a Leupold vx3i-4.5-14 (50mm)? I believe the actual measurement of the objective lens diameter is 58 mm. Not concerned with cheek weld as I have an adjustable cheek rest. Just...

Struggling to Achieve a Zero at 100 yards.

Can't rule out that possibility. I do not like shooting this gun. If I could, I would just iterate different people shooting it to see how it performs amongs different shooters.

Struggling to Achieve a Zero at 100 yards.

Have heard this about the trigger. Have tried corelokt's (150 and 180GR) and hornady eld-x's. I'm not sure that buying more ammo at this point will do much for me at this point. Going to take it to a gunsmith to see if there's anything glaringly mechanically wrong with rifle. I'm at the...

Struggling to Achieve a Zero at 100 yards.

I have a question for you all: 1) Could I mount and test my scope on my smaller caliber rifle (.17 HMR)? Or is it simply not apples to apples because the recoil is so different?

Struggling to Achieve a Zero at 100 yards.

Same conditions, different scope (old bushnell sportview, 3-9). I had 5 bullets; it took me two to get on paper after adjusting turrets. Thus, after turret adjustment, I shot the 3-bullet group at 100 yards as seen below. Max spread is 3.553 inches. This seems to support the idea that it's...

Struggling to Achieve a Zero at 100 yards.

I just mounted and leveled a scope on it. It's an old bushnell 3-9, sportview, made in Korea. Had been using it forever on my .243 deer rifle. It's by no means tried and true as I haven't put it on sand bags at 100 yards and shot it. However, it's an experiment that is better than doing...
