My Remington 870 Slug Gun with rifled barrel will shoot 2" 3 shot groups at 100 yards. My son took his biggest buck to date with it last year in Illinois.
Congrats on the buck. Made my first trip to Idaho this season and it will not be my last. I did not fill my tag but saw plenty of deer, just not the one I was looking for.
Had an uncle who lived near Delta Junction, Alaska and he used an 8mm Rem Mag when he hunted them back in the 80's. If I were to hunt one today, I think I would use a .375.
Just saw that on Facebook, about 2 months earlier than last year. I guess everyone figured that's a good way to social distance yourself. Bought mine back in May.
I shoot powerbelt almost exclusively in mine and they shoot very well (maybe I am just lucky). I have assumed they would be legal for Colorado, if I am incorrect, I appologize.
Do a little research on proper shooting positions if you need too, plenty of good information online but the best advice would be practice, practice, and practice some more. Even shooting a pellet gun in the back yard can be a great help.
I've only owned the Outdoor Edge but I can't think of a reason to switch to one of the other ones. In the couple years I've used it, I've had no issues at all (mostly on whitetails). My son has uses his pretty much as an EDC and I've been suprised by how long the blades last.
WV has four counties in the southern part of the state that have been bow hunting only for many years. If you can get access to hunting land (mostly private) there are some impressive bucks.
Very newbie to site, not very newbie in general. Finally at a point in life where time and finances will allow me to travel out west hunting more. Can't PM yet but would love to talk when I am able. I will be heading to Idaho this fall with my son.
