Preferred shotgun for clays, doves, pheasants, ducks, and geese

Franchi, Beretta or Benelli semiauto will all put game on the table. I have one of each b/c I didn’t want to be a bigot. Although it’s arguable anyway as apparently I’m a euro trash fan. 🤣😂

Entry level Garmin GPS handheld eTrex series

Hell yes, mine works great for the way I use it. I use mine for three scenarios: 1. If I’m in unfamiliar terrain I always mark my vehicle or camp before I start walking just in case I’m busting brush after dark. 2. To waypoint good camping or hunting spots to find years later. 3. To project...

    Leaving elk quarters overnight

We lost a game bag with both backstraps off an elk in 2019. Never happened before with upteen elk. Was just sick about it. Guess a bear was the culprit. Had left all the game bags laying up against a log in the shade, probably 40 yards from the carcass.

    Non load carrying daypack?

Badlands 2200 is what I use as a day pack and fits exactly what you are looking for. I use a mystery ranch 7500 for pack hunting. But for hunting out of a truck or in deer camp it’s just perfect. Has an internal frame, good pocket organization, decent belt, dedicated spotting scope pocket...

Army Corps says no to massive gold mine proposed near Bristol Bay in Alaska

I totally disagree respectfully. I feel quite comfortable sitting in my chair eating ice cream, and thinking that not all human lives are worth the damage they create to sustain themselves. Why should some knucklehead anywhere get to wipe out a valuable resource or endangered species so he can...

Army Corps says no to massive gold mine proposed near Bristol Bay in Alaska

You know why I like this site? Because we can all have a rational adult discussion which gives all sides a chance to have various points of view aired without childish ad hominem attacks on the other parties’ sexuality, race, education, etc. Truly.

Army Corps says no to massive gold mine proposed near Bristol Bay in Alaska

it’s funny how some people love “deregulation”. What most people do not realize is that government oversight is absolutely needed b/c most corporations are amoral and only care about profits to shareholders. Without government oversight many companies would literally dump their contaminated...

Army Corps says no to massive gold mine proposed near Bristol Bay in Alaska

I guess the crux question is does it involve private land only or does it affect public land?

Recommend a smith to retool my nipple threads

No you can’t buy a new bolster for a CVA. Way complicated b/c the way they were machined from what I have read.

Army Corps says no to massive gold mine proposed near Bristol Bay in Alaska

We hunt by summitville goldmine in Colorado. The dudes with their fancy suits and helicopters come in, rape the land, use highly toxic chemicals, take all the money out and shelter it offshore, then declare bankruptcy of the standalone corporation they created for the project. Now it’s a...

Recommend a smith to retool my nipple threads

So I bungled my CVA 6mm threads a few years back. Local smith rethreaded to 1/4 T/C threads. I’ve fired 40+ rounds since with no problem using 100 grains of pyro with 430 grain .54 maxiballs. Shoots great. But now I’m starting to second guess the strength of that rethread and want it either...

What configuration do you carry your rifle?

You need to make sure it’s bone dry of oil in the bore. Can fire one fouling shot and reload it. If you can leave a cap on it, but if it’s a 209 primer no worries though as misfires are very rare. But yes you should have the weapon loaded. On a vehicle most states require you to remove the cap.

    Bino harness

I’m a fan of the Rick Young ultralight. It stays put, doesn’t slip. You can extend it and run it under your left arm too. Wraps tightly around the frames so you can put the binos back in the case for storage.

A picture to sum up CO OTC Rifle Units

My humble theory is that when they started issuing either sex tags for rifle back in the 2000’s they overshot the herd reduction goals. I think the ranchers bitched enough to get their way.
