I doubt it, he doesn't post that much on forums anymore and has butted heads with Form.
He doesn't believe in the drop tests either so not sure him posting here is worth his time.
I listened to the podcast about the Rokstock and was curious to how it would look.
If the tagline in the marketing isn't "Form Follows Function" I'll be deeply disapointed.
What about a prismatic scope?
There's a tonne of options in the 3-5x range, most have holdover reticles and you have a lot of different price points and features to choose from.
Fixed mag scopes are few and far between nowadays.
The reason I ask is that I could see a market for a super wide FOV fixed 4-6x scope that was light weight and relatively cheap. There has been a move towards high magnification prismatic scopes over in AR15 land.
Fixed scopes come up in conversation over on Snipershide, often asking why there...
What's the appeal of a fixed magnification scope? Just that its cheaper?
Other than a ridiculous amount of elevation the only benefit to the SWFA 6x42 over the 3-9 is its half the price and a wider FOV.
It's somewhat baffling that NF a lightweight Compact scope in both the NXS and SHV line an wont offer a FFP reticle. Yet they'll do FFP in high magnifcations models in the same line.
They do FFP LVPOs too, so its not like there is no market for lower magnifcation FFP optics.
If you want an ultralight scope then your only options are SFP, the Swarvo Z3 and Z5, and the Leupold VX3 scopes are by far the lightest scopes on the market.
All the lightweight FFP scopes on the market have been mentioned already.
What magnification range, and how heavy are you wanting to go?
So Maven have finally given Rokslide what everyone wanted: a reliable scope with a usable reticle, decent glass, good features, and not too expensive.
Basically an updated Bushnell LRHS 3-12.
The only problem is its too heavy and needs less magnification, but also need more magnification, and...
A bad stock will absolutely make a difference; length of pull, cheek riser, grip etc all make come into effect.
If you've ever shot a rifle setup for someone else that doesn't fit you, you'll know that it can screw you up a lot.
That being said I think the Tikka stocks are perfectly...
I'm not saying anything, other than we can sit here and speculate why companies do what they do but for the most part we will never really know (some people do actually know, and Form may well be one of them).
What I am saying is no company goes out of their way to make a terrible product that...
I'm sure some people would consider those import restrictions a blessing rather than a curse!
But yes, lets not derail the thread more than I already have....
The even better example is the Land Rover Defender.
Land Rover had been making a vehicle that had cult like status for 70 years, that had a loyal fan base and instant brand recongnition.
They intentionally killed it off and replaced it with a new model that did not, and would not appeal to...
It is definitely true that enthusiasts know more about the products than many employees, but it's definitely not all employees. Those working in the engineering/design department will know more about the actual product, and those in sales and marketing know what sells.
It's still entirely...
