    WTS Savage 99e .308 w/Leupold

1971 Savage 99e in .308 with a Leupold Vari-X I 4-12x40. Really nice set up. Action locks up tight, shoots well. There is a small area below the front sight that is a little rough. I have not had a chance to clean it up. 1” gun with 150 grain hornady whitetail ammo. Just mounted the Leupold and...

    Muzzleloading Wannabee - CVA Accura LR-X .45

I just traded for a Accura LR-X .45 and since no one has the BH209, I am using 120 grain by volume of T7 2FG with 285 ELR’s and it is .5” at 50 yards and 1” at 100 yards. Going to run some Hornady SST 200’s next trip to see how they do. Added the Williams western precision sights and it...

    Area Biologist Questions?

I have called both the area biologist and the game wardens in the unit I am hunting this year in New Mexico. I did have quite a few specific places that I was interested in especially the canyon names and drainages. That helped a bunch while asking them questions.

CVA Optima Magnum .45 cal load help!

So, I spent a couple of hours at the range yesterday and found that 90 grains by volume of 777 FFG worked really well with the Hornady SST 200 grains sabots. I tried a few different charges with the powerbelt ELR as well with poor results overall. Here are some pics with the 90/200 load at 50...

    Choosing 1 binocular

I have considered that. Probably overthinking it, which is what I typically do. I tend to always purchase through the forums on a couple different sites to keep cost down. So, if you could only take one quality optics to the field, would it be 8x42 or 10x42 or 12x50’s?

    Choosing 1 binocular

I really like my prostaff 5’s. They work great in oklahoma for up to 800 yards (that is the widest area I have used them while hunting). Just though the ED glass would be a low light improvement. I do have a pair of leupold 12x50’s I am planning to bring along, they are just bulky and heavy. I...

    Choosing 1 binocular

I want to preface this with I already have nikon prostaff 5 10x42’s. If you could only choose one optic purchase between the Vortex Diamondback 15x56 or upgrading to a nikon monarch 7 10x42, which would you choose. This will be for a mule deer hunt in New Mexico this fall. It will be pretty...

WTS/WTT Leupold VariX II 2.5x28 LER

TTT, would trade for a 50 cal muzzleloader as well for equal value or could add for the right rifle.

CVA Optima Magnum .45 cal load help!

I know! Right?!?! I am anti-pellet but the speed load option in the field might be a good option🤷🏻‍♂️

CVA Optima Magnum .45 cal load help!

I will definitely drop back to measuring by volume. May even pick up some pellets.

CVA Optima Magnum .45 cal load help!

That would make sense. Probably why it is not consistent. I will try a much lighter load.

CVA Optima Magnum .45 cal load help!

Picked this up a couple of months ago to try my hand at muzzle loading. So far I have only shot 8 rounds through it. 3 powerbelt 295 ELRs with 110 grain by weight of 777. I have also shot 5 Hornady 200s with the same 110 grain by weight 777. Shot OK, like 2” at 50 yards with both loads but 100...
