    The quick release is awesome actually. The idea is that you have a gun chest harness for those times you don’t want your binos. Pack outs. Etc. also if you want to drop everything for a final stalk, you still have a spot for your rangefinder and phone for OnX.

    If I were building one I would just copy the Striver Gear harness. I bought a used Kuiu Pro from the guy that owns the company a few months ago and he went through his design with me when I saw it in his car. I’ll be buying that one for next years season for sure.

    The VA-5 is currently all set up in the dining room with a spotter and stuff on it on a larger tripod. But I was able to weigh just the Summit Carbon 2 base without the head. 1 pound 14.7 ounces. So add the VA5 weight to that.

    Saying that people don't have enough time in the field if they are doing gutless is lame and laughable. I appreciate your reasonings. They are valid. Cheap shots are not. Nobody is gatekeeping anything about "backpack hunting."

    Spomer insists that Barnes coppers are the best thing known to man and match bullets are a huge no-no for hunting. It's a joke. But explain how 6.5CM is "better" than 6CM? Is it 0.5 better? Better because the bullet is slower? What is it?

    I have an RhinoRack sunseeker. I like it a lot. Just know they are loud as crap for wind noise and make a noticeable hit to mileage. I didn’t realize how much until I took mine off for a 600 mile trip this spring. I left it off after.

    I'm pretty sure they are the exact same base machine file just the two piece omits the center rail. I would make sure to find the 4 bolt cap model personally. You can easily lapp any small bit of misalignment away if you must do the 2 piece. I have 2 piece mounts on all my hunting rifles BTW...
