Thanks a lot Ridge. And yes Nick at MistyRiver is a stand up guy.
Currently we are booked through 2025. But there is definitely lots of good outfitters that im sure can take you this year or next MC. Lancasters have a great name in the industry. Another good one out of Alberta is Kyler Knelson...
...exclude Alberta from your search. The drive may not be much farther from Reno than BC, depending on your hunt location.
I hunted with MistyRiver Outfitters two years ago and had a great experience. I couldn't recommend them enough. The owner of Bowen Lake Outfitters posts here on Rokslide...
I went on a guided hunt in Alberta with MistyRiver Outfitters and had a good experience. The guides were great and I lucked out with the other hunters in camp. They were a father and 2 adult sons that were fun to hang out with. Everyone was friendly and serious about hunting while still having...
Check out MistyRiver Outfitters in northern Alberta. Remote, fly-in hunt with a lodge, amazing pike fishing, and nice bears taken over bait. The outfitter is a great guy as well. I believe the hunts go for around $5K per person, so it should be well under your budget.
Do yourself a favor and check out MistyRiver Outfitters in northern Alberta. They offer a fly-in hunt on a lake with a main lodge and individual cabins. There's solar electricity, hot running water, wood stoves, and a bar to keep the wives happy while you're out in the field. Heck, there's even...
Thanks for everyone's feedback so far. We are leaning on going to Canada and doing MistyRiver after looking into it more. We still just have the one friend who is hesitant to go and doing a bear hunt was his idea so that's the only hold up on us actually getting a deposit put down. Has anyone...
Nick runs a top notch camp. His area is to the south of mine. You would have a great hunt with Nick, and the fishing is out of this world.
Andrew Breen with Clearwater River Outfitting would be another great hunt.
Hunted Alberta first week of October with MistyRiver Outfitters. The warm weather made hunting tough, but the switch turned on October 3rd. This was the seventh bull we had talking that day and the second called in under 30 yards.
I have no experience with them. Just know that it would be a different kind of bear hunt in Montana, as no baiting is allowed. Everything is glassing and spot-and-stalk.
Mikes and Mistyriver both look like great places to go. I’m sure we couldn’t go wrong with either after I spoke with them earlier today. If we can get everyone on board to agree that Canada is the way to go I think we will go with one of those two.
I haven’t spoken to glacier guides yet since...
I decided to head out yesterday morning for a couple quick stands. Having an east wind isn't normal around here this time of year, so I snuck into a spot I have been wanting to hunt, but haven't had the chance yet. I proned out in some knee high grass, watching over a cut bean field. The air was...
While it isn’t Alaska, check out MistyRiver Outfitters at Gypsy Lake Lodge for Giant Canadian Moose. They’ve killed a bunch of 50+” moose the last three years. It’s an incredible remote hunt with the best accommodations out there. Power, hot shower, log cabin with wood stove.
