As long as the war machine keeps feeding them contracts, I don’t think they’re going to fire up the fieldcraft production line. The field craft production line operated under Trump when there were no significant foreign conflicts, and Barrett used the retail consumer market to supplement their...
Another reason for going bigger would be if your objective is to have a flatter trajectory and not have to dial or hold over on longer range shots. Without full understanding of your boundary conditions it’s not really possible to cater a response, which is probobly leading to frustration

Bullet expansion is a function of energy, which is a function of velocity. So energy is completely relevant. Past 300 yards impact velocity Energy and bullet expansion are typically higher with larger caliber high ballistic coefficient cartridges. These are generalizations. It really depends on...
Really depends on what distance you’re shooting, and what type of conditions. For anything inside of 500 yards in wide-open country with good light I would say 9-12X. LVPO would be a fair choice. Any further distance, low light, or shooting in thick timber I’d opt for 15-18X.
Heavier caliber bullets maintain their energy at longer distances. So if you’re shooting at long-distance and want to maintain your velocity you just use a heavier bullet With high ballistic coefficient if possible. If you hit the heart or a double lung shot the size of the wound channel is...
Caliber selection comes down to game size and shot distance. White tail at 300 yd can be handled by 308 or 6.5cm or similar. Longer distances may require a heavier bullet in the 7mm or 30 cal category. The best cartridge is the one you can shoot accurately.
I will add that cartridge selection and recoil influences the precision equation probobly more so than rifle selection itself. Modern tight tolerance chamber cartridges generally shoot more precisely, and lower recoiling cartridges keep a more consistent POI.
Boots all fit differently. You have to try on a few and pick the ones that work. Factories, molds, and tooling are never consistent. There’s no guarantee that a size 12 crispi GTX from 2020 will fit like the same boot that’s been manufactured in 2023.
I’ve had the meta on back order from optics planet for eight months now. Don’t think I’ll ever see it at this point. But who knows. I was in it for the glass quality and 18 times magnification for Identification purposes.
