    Suppressor wait times getting faster

I have not added amended my trust yet, so I can’t answer from experience on adding people. Because of how the atf changed an interpretation last year I now have to do two RP’s on each submission. Once it’s set up, not a big deal, but can make the approval take longer than a single shot trust...

    Suppressor wait times getting faster

My last trust approval was 4 months. While way too long, it’s not long enough to outweigh the benefits if you have family. Having them on the trust allows anyone in the family to use them at anytime. The transfer upon death is a nonissue, a form 5 allows transfer and the estate can take...

Comparing recoil between rifles of different weights

Felt recoil is quite subjective and depends on more than energy/velocity. Using the measurable things like velocity and energy gives an idea of the difference in recoil, but in the end, you have to shoot both to compare. Fit/stock geometry can have a big effect on felt recoil. That can’t be...

    Suppressor wait times getting faster

Just got a trust approval today, 124 days. Last one was 191, so an improvement. Still nowhere close to what others are getting for individuals.

Is there any video or evidence in general that a heavier projectile will penetrate deeper?

At equal speed, yes, but a heavier bullet is going slower. I think the answer is, it depends.

    Suppressor wait times

They are inconsistent on this. I have multiple nfa items on the same trust, I am the trustee and she is the successor trustee. Two approvals did not require her to submit fingerprints, but I had several rejected after my approvals as she had not submitted prints. I had to resubmit with her...

Twist rate and penetration: also factors effecting penetration and wound channels in general

I know maker has to design bullets differently for the 8.6 vs other subs. They also have a velocity limit which I expect is due to the petals opening due to fast enough spin rate. I have started to hunt with 45-70 subs and am impressed. Rpm is super low, only 64k rpm. At 500g they offer...

    Electric dirt bikes?

Most states, if over 750 watts, they are already classified as a motor vehicle and just like a motorcycle legally. I am not sure this in enforced.

    Electric dirt bikes?

Real world range for Alta’s were in the 30-35 mile range. Surons are probably a bit less. Cold weather really impacts range, 30-50% less than 70-80 deg range.

    Suppressor wait times

Probably better to file as individual due to approval times. Transfer to heirs is similar for both, form 5.

    Suppressor wait times

With an individual you are the only one who can possess the can. With a trust, other trustees can have a can in their possession without you being there. If you have a family and an individual nfa item, no one else can have access to where it is stored. A trust can get around this if the...

2 stroke dirt bike for older rider?

On the Ktm and beta, you can back off the adjuster screw and turn it back into a conventional clutch. Then it will bump start. Never had to do this on my last two bikes, but it is an option. The YZ has a different setup where you can not do this. I found on the down hill disengagement, if...

2 stroke dirt bike for older rider?

Recluse is basically a centrifugal clutch like on beginner bikes. On my 350 xcfw, it was a lifesaver as that bike was critical on gear selection. The rekluse eliminated that. Also great for tight Texas twisties, just leave it in second gear and it wouldn’t stall or need shifting. I have...

    Yes, just a white Ktm.

Detained over a couple rounds of ammo

Tsa is a joke. My wife has done two trips with a 4” pairing knife in her purse and I have walked through with a spyderco clip knife in my pocket, with the clip showing. All post 9/11.

2 stroke dirt bike for older rider?

I do rejet as I run in Colorado 9k-11+, Moab at 4K, and the Midwest that’s 1k. I have a chart and change needles, mains, and pilots as needed. Still prefer the carb on a 2-st. Not having to deal with a fuel pump, injectors, fuel filters is worth it to me. Soon I expect all efi bikes will...

2 stroke dirt bike for older rider?

I disagree on the efi. On a 4-st a game changer. 2-st I would rather have a carb. Simple, light, easier maintenance. Only reason for efi is to deal with emissions. 380 was an awesome bike.

2 stroke dirt bike for older rider?

Don’t overlook a Beta 300. Either an XT or a regular 300. They were a few k less than a comparable KTM when new. I have been back on a 300 for 5 years now. I would stay away from the mid 00 KTM’s as they are tuned to be peakier with more power. While that can be fun, they are not as mellow...

I stopped by Bass Pro Shops on my way home yesterday. This is insanity!

Bass pro is one of the most expensive stores out there. Yes, powder is expensive now. No longer 25/lb. Same as primers are not 25/100.

Zoleo - discharging its battery in storage?

All batteries self discharge over time. Each type has different discharge rates. Nimh are really fast, lithium is pretty slow.
