So the 180 scenars shot well with a 9.5 twist? I run the 155's in my 308, but I have an older Browning abolt 7 mag 24" that will shot the 162 eld match very well. Wasn't sure my 9.5 would stabilize the 180 scenars.
I considered looking for a replacement stock for my Abolt II Medallion, but all i could find was a B&C. I love the original wood stock of mine, but after 30+ years, it's starting to get some nicks due to my hunting conditions. I went on Mcmillian's site but don't see the stock. They do have a...
While I understand what your trying to say, I don't agree with the example. Your changing entire components. In your example your changing cartridge size to 300PRC. All I'm saying is seat the bullet out further out its original 7mag belted case. You may or may not need to throat it longer...
Gerry35, I have seen that video and waiting for the test results to see. But yes, this is one of the videos that I watched that confirms a lot of my reading and ifon that I have found. But again, in theory, it seems correct, but he hasn't posted the testing video as far as I know.
I want to hear from you guys to help me understand something. Last year, I started playing around with my older 7mag. Watched tons of videos and such about dealing with the belt, head spacing off the shoulder rather than the belt, bumping shoulder back, etc. Developed some very accurate loads...
I picked up the CTR for the fact that the little kids could shoot it. The extra weight, 5/8-24 threads would allow for a brake, and I originally topped it with an Arken EP5 5-25x56, all which made the rifle very heavy. This would be perfect with very little recoil and then could eventually...
Homemade. Very easy to do. Got tired of the manual one, so i made this. If it were slightly faster, I could damn near throw the entire charge. The small switch makes the speed infinite settings, the more you turn, the faster the powder comes out...
I have both the lite and CTR in 308. I put my CTR on a diet and now its only about .73 lbs heavier than My lite. I couldn't get use to the mag of the CTR sticking way out the bottom, so i swapped it to a standard Tikka T3x stock. I have a Credo on it right now, but I'm liking it more than my...
Similar situation, but mine is 24" 9.5 twist . I have worked up some loads and have the 162 eld-match dialed in to shoot less than .5 moa at 100, but haven't taken any game with them yet. Read tons of threads claiming that they are basically the older A-max. I considered looking into the 168...
Haha, very nice. I run a similar setup, because Gravity is undefeated. Not the fastest, but if I'm spending all this money on rifles, optics, gear and such, I want the best accuracy I can get given the components I have on hand at that time. If I was plinking or just clowning around, sure...
OR, you can take the CTR and place it in another stock with T3x bottom metal and M-mags. In my hunting conditions, I coundn't get use to the CTR mag sticking out the bottom. Wanted something more flush. then I changed and/or modified the bolt stop. Pull the rail and shave a lot of weight off...
I had an EP5, like mentioned above, the turrets felt nice, it did track good, the glass is at least to my eyes, ok at best. Nothing great. I had the 5-25x56 FFP and anything about 16x, the glass wasn't near as clear. Useable, but again, not as clear. One thing I don't think was mentioned yet...
This along with flash hole. I had some brass where there was a small flap attached to the flash hole inside. Not much, but a few still had it attached. Once I cleaned that up, all was ok. how much did it weigh, don't know, but it was a chunk of brass just hanging out. So I decided to go...
