Used Aegis Extreme Jacket and Bibs. jacket is in like new condition. bibs have a small wear spot on the right suspender, but otherwise is in great condition too. only washed in sentless soap, always kept packed inside a smell proof tote. 300$ shipped for both or 180$ for jacket and 130$ for bibs
Range day went much better with my new lehigh adapter and plug, still ran into a few issue, but was able to get off 10 shots.
Shots 1-3 fired flawlessly
Shot #4 would not go, fired 3 primers.
Took breech plug out and checked for blockage, didn't see anything, fired 3 primers and made sure flash...
I was pushing it with 80g of bh209, so pretty equivalent. I've settled on using the thor 300s. The few times I've gotten a shot off placement was good and would prefer to use copper anyways . Ill go back to try the NEs at some point. Thanks for the tips! Lehigh plug should be here Wednesday...
Just because you've said your worried I'm adding some kind of moisture or lubricant, I did swab with some solvent, so I figured I'd make sure its really dry before going and trying to shoot again
Trying to be super anal about making sure nothing gets inside there
I had already cleaned it by the time I read this unfortunately, but I used compressed air to blow it out, and I'll let it sit for a day or 2 to fully dry out. Then back to the range
I did attempt to fire it as it was 4 times. Each time I took it out and made sure I could see through the flash...
These are pics of my breech plug uncleaned from the range. Hard to get a good pic, but i can see through the flash hole, i don't understand how the primers werent igniting the charge.
Looking at sabotloaders spent primers, I can say mine look nothing like that, I must be getting a ton of blowback. As there are blackend like crazy. I will take a picture next range day. I did shoot with the rios previously, they seemed to run even dirtier then the CCI209m
I'll give the rios another shot. I emailed knight a few weeks ago, have not heard anything back. If I have a chance I'll give them a call, I have a 1 year old, so not a ton if time to chat on the phone anymore
I have some from a brand called Rio, but I think they are for shotguns. They did work okay in my gun, but is it possible I damaged the breech plug using them?
Other then that I have the 777 primers, but as stated earlier they are probably not hot enough.
Kinda slim pickens around my parts...
Hey lewis so will I still use the plastic jackets with the lehigh? I ordered the adapted with it too for my a rpj bolt. I kinda wanna ditch the plastic jacket setup and just go bare primer. I was sold on the waterproof, but I think it could be contributing to my woes.
Thanks!
Today's range session yielded a similar result as the last, 1st shot went off, wouldn't fire again. I fired 3 primers before I shot. They all sounded the same. When I removed the breech plug, I used the 1/8 drill bit to check for carbon, it seemed pretty dirty.
The lehigh plug and an OEM knight...
Triggers back alive! Kinda did a weird hang fire thing, a half second delay between trigger pull and hammer release but dry firing it a few more time brought it back to normal. I'll make sure to incorporate cleaning this out every time.
Encore thank you again man. Your really taking some weight...
Your right encore they have some at a Walmart near close. I checked the auto zones stock online and it says out of stock. I can probably wrestle up some lighter fluid too, just gotta go looking
Unfortunately I don't have any brakleen, ill have to order as my local auto stores don't seem to carry it. Will have to order lighter fluid too. Going to be a bit before I can get back to the range, time is running out for me here, thinking of ordering a backup muzz incase this doesn't get...
