I have both. I had the regular non-insulated for about 2 years before I got the insulated ones also. Honestly, I wish I hadn't dropped the coin for the insulated ones. They actually seem colder if I have any hike at all before I sit, and they are heavier and bulkier.
Seekins Havak PH2 in 300 Winchester magnum. Fewer than 60 rounds through gun, exceptional condition. Stainless with a 1:10 twist fluted barrel, threaded 5/8x24. Grey stock. Original case and all paperwork will go with rifle. I can send more pictures upon request. This is the bare rifle only...
This year was rough in northern Idaho also. I live and hunt in the panhandle. 19 elk, and this year was very hard- the second time I didn't tag out in archery in my life. We had 1 week of full rut-fest, and the rest of the time it was silent. Before anyone asks, I hunted in four different...
I have both an Exo K4 and a Kuiu PRO 3600. Overall, the K4 is much better quality. However, for very light days, like day trips with under 15lbs of gear, I still take the Kuiu. I got the K4 because with anything over 30 lbs, the Kuiu was not friendly to my old ass. The K4 carries loads much...
I used the hard MOLLE attachment from my Ivory Holster, since I needed to replace those with the flexible kind to fit the K4. I just use one of the hard MOLLE pieces (and you can find them elsewhere) and replaced the attachment on the back of the knife sheath with that. Works awesome. I too...
This is just my experience, and everyone is a bit different, but I went with an extra wide quilt even though I am an old medium sized guy (5'9", 180lbs) and the extra width is very nice. I went with an EE Enigma 20 degree and paired it with a zenbivy fast sheet and it does me well from Sept...
Kuiu Pro LT 5500 bag in Verde. Used for about 3 hours but you cannot tell- it is basically brand new. Bag is just too large for my uses (I'm staying with the 3600). $160 TYD. Bladder sleeve / accessory pouch: $20 + shipping, very useful for the LT packs if you run a bladder. Bow holder in...
Update: Got the K4 and like it, but the 23.5" frame is just too short. Now I have to send it back for a 25", and shipping sure isn't cheap. So far I like it better than the Kuiu under load; it doesn't sway as much and the hip belt is superior. However, the Kuiu is still far more comfortable...
I have a speed goat and a stoned goat. Love these knives! But I really like having a knife attached to my pack and cannot make the kydex holster for these knives work on my K4 pack. It worked fine on my Kuiu pack, but cannot get it to mount on the Exo K4. Does anyone have any ideas for...
Yes, I would love to hear your assessment once you have a few trips in it. Not ready to sell my Kuiu set just yet since it fits so well when its light, but I'm thinking about it...
Sorry for the long post, I'm just hoping to pare down the questions I've read in similar threads... I'm in my mid 50s and hunt archery elk and deer as a resident in north Idaho. I've been using the Kuiu Pro 3600/5500LT for the past few seasons; 3600 for 80% of my hunting (from basecamp/...
I live in North Idaho and frequently hunt in the rain. For all- day rain, I wear Kuiu Yukon top and bottom. The bottoms make a crinkle noise in the ass when I walk, but otherwise are great and my go-to. For intermittent rain when I keep a lightweight set in the pack, I use Sitka dewpoint...
I'm in North Idaho, but I have a different experience with my Crispi boots. Nevada (insulated for winter) and Colorado. Neither have leaked a bit in 3 years of hard use.
I am a huge Crispi fan (I have Colorado, summit and Nevada) and would love to try these, but I cant seem to find them in EE. I tried standard width in these, but they just don't fit my feet. The Danners we have worn for years just plain suck, so I hope some day I can find these in EE.
