Closed Door Hunts around the World.

I’ve read that China acts as a replenishing resource to all the surrounding countries for mountain game. Lots of Argali and Ibex crossing those borders.

Going on Safari- What question ya got?

Hippo on land? I’ve heard there’s nothing that puts the “dangerous” in Dangerous Game like hunting Hippo on land, at night, in the sugarcane fields with a double rifle.

    Africa Hunts

South Africa seems to be the most popular first trip choice by far. Some things to consider: 1. Fenced vs free range 2. Plains game or Dangerous Game 3. Exportable vs Non-exportable species

    Scope rings for Ruger Hawkeye

Not to hijack the thread but when it comes to Ruger rings on the M77, are they supposed to be a different height for front and back? I ordered a pair of 30mm Medium rings for my M77 Guide Gun and the front sight appears a couple mm higher than the rear.

    The Capra World Slam.

You don't seem to hear much about the lesser known Goral, Serow, Takin and Markhor. The cost of the Markhor being the limiting factor I assume.

With the ever increasing price of a North American Sheep hunt, where are the best values internationally?

So what's the deal with Azerbaijan? They shut down during the pandemic and decided to never reopen?

Closed Door Hunts around the World.

Had to google that one, such a interesting looking animal. China does seem to contain a plethora of mountain game. Any idea how long it's been closed?

Closed Door Hunts around the World.

The more reading I do, the more restrictions I come across in terms of which hunts are "closed" to international hunters in terms of prohibitions by country, by species, by import etc. Whether it's a country that has completely closed it's borders to outside hunters (i.e. China) or if it's a...

With the ever increasing price of a North American Sheep hunt, where are the best values internationally?

From what I've read the Tur count as both a Ovis and Capra species? Interesting. It also sounds like those mountains in Azerbaijan are some of the hairiest in the world.

With the ever increasing price of a North American Sheep hunt, where are the best values internationally?

Aside from the various Mouflon sheep ($5,000), which would be the next most affordable of the true Ovis species internationally? one of the Russian Snow Sheep? Blue Sheep?

    The Capra World Slam.

So i've been giving this more thought in recent weeks and am starting to put together a hunt plan for the next 5 years. With Canada Mountain Goat on deck I think I should be able to follow up with the following over the course of the next 5 years. Trip 1: Spain - Beceite & South Eastern...

Never hunted outside of North America, recommendations for first international hunt?

How was the import process bringing trophies back home? Did you borrow a rifle or bring your own?

A few international options that I've been looking at that other first-timers may also want to consider (all prices in Canadian): Spain - Beceite Ibex & South Eastern Ibex - $11,500 Spain - Beceite Ibex & Mouflon - $14,900 Austria - Alpine Chamois - $10,700 Hungary - Red Stag & Mouflon -...

If Id like to hunt a second ibex in addition to the Beceite, which would be the next best choice that’s more affordable than a Gredos? I’d like to take 2 species.

Never hunted outside of North America, recommendations for first international hunt?

I did forget to mention Argentina, I’ve recently discovered that it’s quite the hunting destination. I’ve never considered hunting doves myself but I’ve heard others rave about it. Looks like they also have a ton of big game like axis deer, black buck, red deer, water buffalo, wild goats...

Never hunted outside of North America, recommendations for first international hunt?

Ibex are high up on my list and im thinking Spain might make for a good option to ease myself into international hunting. It doesn’t sound like you have to rough it so much on those hunts, might make for a good destination to bring the wife along on. I’d like to hunt a Beceite and Gredos.

Never hunted outside of North America, recommendations for first international hunt?

I’m sure many here are in the same boat as myself and have never hunted outside of North America. For those that now have several international hunts under their belt, which would you recommend to someone as their first experience? South Africa Plains Game? New Zealand Tahr & Chamois? Spain...

With the ever increasing price of a North American Sheep hunt, where are the best values internationally?

Yeah that is likely true. Looking at the GSCO stats regarding european mouflon, they don't seem to get very large (100lbs). I'm guessing they are viewed as more of an add-on species when pursuing Ibex, Chamois, Stag etc. GSCO - Mouflon I still think it would be worthwhile to pursue one for...
