    Ever Used Your Sidearm While Hunting?

    I’ve pulled mine on a black bear but never shot. It’s also nice to have next to me in the tent. I’ve had multiple encounters with critters in the middle of the night checking me out.

    Do you shoot factory or load your own ammo?

    I started reloading when this last ammo crisis hit, it was expensive to get into and components were hard to find but more than likely I wont go back to factory ammo. For me, the accuracy of reloading far outweighs the up front cost and frustration of not finding components at a reasonable price.

    Today is a gift

    I’m great full God woke me up this morning and gave me another day on his earth. I got up early and enjoyed the quite house drinking coffee with the dog laying on my feet. Kissed my wife, hugged my kids. Got in a good workout and now my afternoon is open.

    Thanks for sharing, it’s not looking good for most areas across the state. I spoke with a biologist earlier this week and they are making their recommendations to help compensate for winter mortality by shortening season dates and reducing tag numbers for the hardest hit areas.

    8x vs 10x

    If your farthest shot is 150-200 yards an 8x would be a much better choice, bigger FOW, lighter and not as much shake when your trying to free hand them. As others have said-Mavens are highly recommended.

    Luxe tents

    I have one, bought it used from a buddy and then I put a SO stove in it. It has the nest which is nice during the warm weather hunts. It’s a pretty good tent and I’d buy another one if I had to. Rumor has it that Luxe was suppose to get a new dealer here in the states.
