Nice! I like the MPI stock. How long did it take to get it? I have an NXS 2.5-10x42 IHR on my Kimber Montana in 6.5cm.
This is a Kimber 8400 in 6.5 PRC with a 22" 8 twist Hells Canyon Armory carbon fiber barrel with an NX8 4-32x50 F1 MOAR. It weighs 8lbs. 13.4oz. It has a super smooth action a...
Rifle is a 22" bolt gun. All are from 10 rounds. Groups are at 100 yards. Bullets are about .023" from touching.
30.1 grs. N550 - Avg-2895, ES-32, SD-9.5. 1.265".
30.4 grs. N550 - Avg-231, ES-24, SD-6.7. 1.204".
29.5 grs. Lever - Avg-2883-ES-17, SD-5.5. 1.070".
29.8 Lever - Avg-2925...
I'd bet those ES/SD numbers would change significantly if the loads were shot again. I would shoot on paper at distance, then decide. It would be interesting to see the result.
Loaded 40 rounds of .22arc with 88gr eld-m, Lapua once fired brass and CCI 450 primers.
10 are 30.1 grs. N550.
10 are 30.4 grs. N550.
10 are 29.5 grs. LeverEvolution.
10 are 29.8 grs. LeverEvolution.
Used a Lee Six Pack Pro and weighed the charges with an AutoTrikler V4.
But you can't know the cone size unless you shoot a decent sample size of shots . Once the cone size is known, you can be confident the 1 single shot will fall somewhere within that established area. That's the reasoning behind large sample size groups. I guess you can call it confidence...
My Mountain Ascent in .308 is a newer production, I think. I bought it from a guy who said he won it in a raffle and hadn't fired it. I haven't shot it much yet either. But anyway the last time I did was with Norma 180gr Oryx and PP2000 MR. First 3-shot group was .675moa, second was .509moa and...
Yes, loose primer pockets is one indicator. If they start out being tight with new cases, it's an indication of over pressure loads.
Split necks is another. If that is happening, annealing can help.
Keep an eye out for case head separation. It will be hard to see at first. Barely visible in...
Stock Kimber Adirondack in 6.5cm. The only thing done to it was a bedding job and trigger adjustment. It wears an NX8 1-8x24 in Talley lightweights. The weight is 6 lbs. 3.4 oz.
It will get right around 1moa for 10 rounds with a variety of loads. This one is with N555, Alpha brass and...
In my experience, virgin brass will take a higher charge than when the case is once fired to achieve the same velocity. In other words, it's totally normal to have to reduce the charge after the first firing. If the charge is not reduced, pressure will be higher and as a result, so will the...
I have loaded the 110 TSX in my .308 with 18" barrel. I went as high as 53 grs of Varget with Win brass and Fed 210 primer. Velocity was about 3010 fps. I shot a deer broadside behind the shoulder from about 30 yards. It ran about 40 yards. Complete pass through and a good blood trail.
I never knew this was even an option for Kimbers. Is there much overhang into the ejector port of the rear base? Would you say they are as rock solid as Warne bases with Warne Mountain Tech or Nightforce 4 screw Xtreme Ultralight rings
