If you practice DA with the 329pd, you can rip off a cylinder full very fast with minute of bear attack accuracy. I know I can.
Six 1000ft/lb .430" 270gr WFN rounds is why I carry my 31oz security blanket.
But I reload and shoot a lot.
The nice thing about locate is that it doesn't require any action on the part of the InReach user. So if the person carrying the InReach is lying dead, they can be located. Or if some slime rodent steals your InReach, it will report the location as soon as it is turned on. Locate (pinging) is a...
I can locate a partner's InReach if he has locate enabled in his mapshare page. But, this only works if I have cell service, as it requires accessing a mapshare page. Is there a way to do this from my Inreach mini directly? It would be nice to be able to locate my partner in the field.
Garmin has a number of options to control that information.
Turn off location on your messages. But enable location pinging in your password protected mapshare so that your SO can see where you are at.
Restrict who gets your checkin messages and tell them to keep quiet.
And the mini will back track, which is nice if you get lost on an in&out hunt and your phone is dead.
Funny, but if you have tracking enabled, you can message a loved one and ask them where you are at :)

I use InReach every month, but I've never gone over my 40 text monthly allocation. So I think something like a safety plan with...
The best post on this thread.
There are no good deals now. A year ago S&W was selling M&P40's for $299, today the price is even with Glock at $519.
Between covid and Biden, people are buying everything.
I run 270gr WFN @1150fps through mine. Holds up fine and I can shoot 3 cylinders of it before I'm all fun'd out.

Brig your 22lr rifle with you when setting up your optical.
I use an old crony alpha master. I only use it when developing a load and I'm so amazing that it works for me (I think I read the instructions or something).
My crony only comes out 1 or twice a year. It remembers a 20 shot string...
