I used code "Reagan" and paid full price but didn't feel bad when it was over. I tried to stack Code "HW Bush" for no new taxes but I'll be damned if they didn't get added back in after checkout.
I went back and forth on the tear pattern but opted for bare carbon because there wasn't much info available. I'd love to see a single color with shading in the tear pattern that's already on a stock. Maybe my next one can be that way.
I didn't update mine and missed multiple shots last time I was out. Unfortunately, the whole trip was about SD and different primers. I drove back to service and updated it for the last shots.
Moral of the story is to power it on and update the damn thing before you leave civilization or...
I go hand tight and retighten during the first shooting session. If the barrel gets hot and you hand tighten then it likely isn't coming off by itself after cooling.
I just bought a new tikka 300wsm last month. Pulled the barrel off that same day. It will live it's best life as a 6.5prc.
So the answer is yes, a 300wsm is worth buying.
I'll have to check my notes but I remember my chromoly barrel not losing as much as I thought. 6.5cm cut to 20" and only lost about 18 fps per inch I think.
The owners from tract and maven came from other established optics companies. My guess is there was a previous relationship that made the transition easier.
Not all blueing is created equal. I have mostly cerakoted Tikka rifles that were blued. Prior to cerakoting they'd show rust on an oiled rag after a humid hunt. I had older firearms that I've hunted with in Louisiana that never showed corrosion with minimal care.
I had two discs rupture when I was younger. PT told me I had tight hamstrings and to stretch. That resulted in shooting pain down the leg. Long story short, I got one of them fixed and deal with the other. It's been 24 years and I still deal with it but I'm pretty active in both my job and...
I have the tract toric you mentioned and a credo in SFP. Both are great scopes, imo. I do recall the tract not doing so well in any of the drop tests but it's already outlasted all my vortex scopes that have moved on to a better life.
Yes and no. You can't hunt over it or where it was placed but you can put it out before or after the season. Dates are something like jan-july if I recall
