    Agreed. Button pulled barrels are cheap to manufacturer. They can shoot well but often have these marks.

    I had one out of spec that was out of spec on multiple actions. I gave the barrel maker the info to put it into spec and they took off double. For those guys every day is a Friday. So yes, better check your headspace. If not, better check your head.

    A guy I know worked with the landowner in the PNW several years back. Said he was a nice guy but a little annoying. Not sure how he ended up in Utah with those pants but looks like he now owns property adjacent to Brighton.

    I have done that before but not when I have Garmin burning a hole in the case. It's so damn easy to use, why not use it and track data points?

    Mount the vise solid and try the overnight freezer on the barrel with action lightly warmed. I forget who suggested it but it works well for my automotive projects.

    Bartlein break in rounds

    Barrel is .5" longer on the PRC and the projectile is 12gr heavier. The CM has had factory and hand loads perform similarly. The PRC only has some break in factory 147 eld-m. I do expect they'll speed up like most barrels do.

    How many rounds did your bartlein take to get it up to speed? I have a 6.5 PRC that's about as fast as my factory 6.5 CM but I only have a dozen rounds through it. There are a lot of variables but I'm expecting to at least see another 100-150 fps. I just hope I can get there sooner than...

    Great for putting a barrel on and using a torque wrench. I wouldn't use one on a factory torqued barrel unless it was in conjunction with an external wrench.

    I'd take one of these and a 3-15 or 3-12 x 44. I'd want capped windage, fat elevation turret in mils and a reticle similar to the swfa mil quad. Those silly tree reticles are for the Lorax.

    They will all headspace but some are torqued on at 250lbs in order to get the correct headspace.
