This might be a long one... Was headed out early this past Saturday to enjoy the CO turkey opener. Planned on making a weekend out of it and was going to backpack in north of the Pouder river. As I was making my way down the winding road along the river, I saw a woman waving her arms...

Backcountry camping. Do you worry about black bears?

Food hung and a handgun in close proximity set my fears at ease. Also, an OTC bear tag in your pocket is better than bear spray.

Colorado Black Bear - Draw or OTC?

Curious if y'all had any advice. Hunted CO last year for first time as resident (Mule Deer, Turkey & Elk). Looking to add more opportunity to my season and was wondering if you would recommend adding a bear tag to a deer or elk tag OTC - or trying to draw a standalone bear tag. Cheers!
