I wear mine everywhere from the ocean to the mountains and have yet to scratch them and I am pretty hard on everything I own. Actually they are the only glasses I have not scratched up. The frames do get tweaked every now and then in my pack but that has been easy to fix so far.
Thats the same setup I switched over to as well and love it! I can not recommend them enough. At this point just about everyone I hunt with and or know that hunts owns at least one pouch.
I grew up using Coleman propane lanterns and stoves but decided to go liquid fuel when it came time for me to buy my own and I am very happy with them so far, an added bonus is they produce a dry heat that helps dry your tent or clothing out.
I have heard the same thing but so far I have no issues holding my binos up for 12 hours and glassing with them. That lets me leave my spotter mounted so I can quickly get on it and check something out. Honestly I use both optics just as much as each other, I will first look the area over with...
I have been using Covert Threads for the past few years and been very happy with them both at work and when outdoors. Got some for free and liked them so I bought some. Guess I am going to have to check out these Costco socks though.
Well I must get really lucky or don't buy much gear since I can only recall one piece of gear truly failing me and pissing me off. Crooked Horn bino harness, this thing had all sorts of reviews on it and I had seen a lot of people using them so I gave it a try. Needless to say I took it off...
I currently use my spotter all day long to glass with, maybe one of these days I will break down and spend that kind of money on a tripod and head for it but for now I will take that money and buy another rifle or pistol that I don't need or use it to fill up the gas tank on my truck so I can...
Been dragging my polarized Oakleys around for years and they hold up great. Heck my dog gave them a good working over a few years back and didn't manage to destroy them. Now they just look like I took some bird shot to one lens. :)
Those are some outstanding pictures thanks for sharing them with us! Love the duel use of your recurve. :) You guys have some amazing country down there that I need to check out one of these days.
Did you not find a chamois to your liking?
I love my spotter but there is no way I am ever spending that much money on a head for my tripod! By the time I buy the tripod and head from Outdoorsman I will have close to half what I paid for my spotter tied up into tripod, thats insane. Think I will keep humping my heavy Leupold tripod...
These are the two most popular chest holster I see in Alaska and hear people talking about on the internet. I have never used either of them but have good friends that use both and swear by them.

I agree on longer hunts you need to be comfortable or you will quickly get worn down and then you get to the point were you can't even keep warm during the day time. If I ever start thinking that extra half pound is too much weight I can go on a diet and get rid of it. :)
Why would you secure your pistol to the side of your pack? When I carry a pistol it is for self defense or to shoot birds so I want it readily accessible, which means on my hip or chest.
I just put my sleeping bag in a black hefty trash bags since it is pretty darn light and works well for me. My extra clothing either goes in a hefty or in ziplocks. When packing meat I always put it in the game bag then in a trash bag to keep the blood from getting all over my pack or any gear...
