if this is for hunting, get a titanium can
if it's just for shooting, get a less expensive non-titanium can
and eventually, get it cut down to 18"
and just keep it direct thread
no recommendation on which particular model, i'll leave that rabbit hole up to others
buy a bunch of sellier & bellot 140 grain ammo to practice because it's way less expensive that anything else and pretty damn consistent.
then any other decent hunting ammo in 140 grain flavors that shoots well and it readily available to you. which will be most of them probably. i dont think...
i dunno, if this is supposed to mimic hunting in six hours i've made it maybe three quiet miles, raised my binoculars up and down 600-700 times, sat down a few times, maybe eaten a snack, and hopefully unshouldered my rifle at least once and even more hopeful, called my wife to say i'm gonna be...
i've worked in a gun store for a decade now
rough calculations say i've spend a year's worth of salary on guns and ammo and toys over the past decade
i need to go back to working in a library where i just raided the discard shelf for books and maps.
but think of all the money i've saved on all...
another vote for the crappiest one that gets her to class on time.
but a standard sized bike...so when the wheel(s) are stolen she can get them replaced easily.
think i went through two wheels before the whole bike disappeared.... heck even the crappy bike a friend gave me after college got...
not sure what ammo availability you're going to find up north but lapua and HSM would probably be what i'd look at if i didn't reload and wanted good ammo for hunting.
thread that 6.5CM, stick a can on the end. that will make a huge difference in recoil and enjoyment.
then buy another rifle and build a 6CM. because that's how this game works.
i do love my .243 tikka though. it's a laser, and suppressed.
going to agree with @hereinaz that you've missed the boat on worrying about a suppressor being too long. i've run a 30 cal can (older sig SRD762) on my 24" tikka 7RM and it's long, and still a magnum. it's not "handy" nor quiet, but it's better than being unsuppressed. i'd run the biggest can i...
i feel like there are enough of us that if you had LH tikka-derived rok-flavored rifle, you'd sell them. tikka seems to take 2-3 years to bring a LH offering to market after they make the RH version available. and if tikka's years out from 6mm goodness, it means another 5-10 for us southpaws...
get someone to thread the 10/22 and buy a rimfire can so you can shoot while you figure out where to go next. any rimfire can will do. a rimfire suppressor can end up on any threaded rimfire you add to your collection, handgun or rifle. they're less expensive, a terribly fun.
there's a WIDE...
i was using 124 hammer hunters in my 308 before going to .243. if i was looking for lighter recoil in a 308, i'd go with 124 hammers, 125 nosler BTs, or 130 TTSX.
for my roughtech 308 i tried in vain to get handloaded 130 TTSX to work as well as just buying a box of barnes loaded ammo. couldn't get close to their velocity without being over-pressure. factory ammo was solidly accurate for me though. tried 5-6 different powders.
i went to hammer to get my...
too old and fragile to work at fishing. and not sure i can call it sport. more like, just trying to stock the freezer with really expensive but fresh fish while enjoying time with pops
