    Denver Area and RMNP Hikes

Out of the ones you mentioned I would suggest Flattop Mountain and Lake Haiyaha? You may transition from boots to spikes to snowshoes. The trails in the park can be fairly packed down and actual snowshoeing not required unless you get "off trail". Both start out at Bear lake, get there early if...

Holster Mounting - Stone Glacier vs Kifaru

I won't use a backpack mounted holster for lets say bear protection simply due to the fact there is going to be times I don't have my pack on. The chest rig is what I'll be using. The Kenai chest holster.

    Packing elk in T3

In a T2 several times.....including a few trips with boned out moose too. I'm sure the T3 would work it's just smaller = more loads.

    Boots for Kodak Goat

Curious if you would recommend the same micro spike for a bit lower in elevation @ the end of Oct for deer? I've read this a few times stating it makes it easier to walk in the clumps.

    Morrison Phoenix 17 XD riser

After much hesitation I made the move to a metal riser. Have to say I'm very impressed. Bob's riser is very sleek and surprising light with the weight of the riser feeling slightly lower. The Jäger low grip is a perfect fit for me. Tuning came quick with the plunger. Shooting it off the shelf...

    Ethical question - stickbow

"Fella's, I'm torn. The two shots I had with my recurve/longbow were the most rewarding shots of my life. I watched both deer tip over. But is it worth the risk? " Yes in my opinion it is. A person can be concerned about wounding game with any weapon choice. Maybe you yourself have already...
