Simpler terms. The motor will either run 100 parts fuel to oil or 50 parts fuel to oil... hence the name XD100 or XD50 if you are buying BRP brand. Otherwise you can run any 2stroke oil on the 50 setting.

I would not be worried about that year of evinrude. The 2000-2002 era ficht motors really tarnished the brand. I had 3000 hrs on the old 1998 150 evinrude, and this 2011 has 950 hrs so far and has been great. It was the only 200hp that was light enough for this old boat that was used to lighter...
