If I was in need of a 6x scope, I'd jump on the deal Doug mentioned earlier. The meopta is everything the leupold is and maybe a tad better, and that's a very good buy.
Hunted for years exclusively with a 6x leupold, only had a couple times I wished I had a variable, and both were in very close range situations where 6x was a little more magnification than I wanted. I now have a low power variable for those times I will be hunting in thicker areas.

I have TC Encore and a knight disc extreme. Both are well made and accurate, I'd recommend either of them without reservation.

I'm in the same boat, have a 6x36 leupold on one muzzleloader. Got another that needs a scope and I'm either going to go with the same or a 2-7 power variable. Likely a leupold vx2 if I can find one used.
Right on the money, habitat degradation is 90% of the problem. However, it will take the longest to fix, and is also the most costly.
