    Barnes 290 TMZ, drive them as hard as you can take ( or your muzz ) and accuracy does not suffer. Great bullets.

    The Federal Bor-lock is a good bullet if your muzz shoots them well. 270 grain is the copper one and 350 is pure lead for other states. The heavier no excuses are great also. Not as flat shooting but for iron sights your shooting a long way anyway.

    How far was your average Antelope shot?

    Most I didn’t need to think where to shoot after getting a range and my Pronghorn gun is zero at 300, so give or take 50 yards. Longest was in Nevada I had perfect conditions it was 637. Closest i remember was 240/250. None with a bow yet.

    This fall is going to be a strain on the old hunting budget, many on here have cross country road trips ahead of them like I do. Spending 2k on fuel will be a reality for two weeks driving from TN to NM and MT. 👎

    200 Less tags in 12a E and W between all the hunts. That should really help in a couple years, if you can draw a tag.

    Iam in the same boat. The late season weather did not turn up this year. Should still be good bucks this year. I have 11 pts also got pointed out last year. Trying to weigh “better” 2nd season unit w no otc elk traffic and pray for weather or 3rd season w otc elk.

    Any 6pt Pronghorn unit you can do in half a day. I would do one deer and one pronghorn tag ( one guy does deer one pronghorn ) and then swap and do the same thing next year. Do H. Get in shape and backpack in. Get on the Wyoming hunt planner. Everything you need to know is there. Do homework.

    Fixed Pin or Moveable, 1st Time Elk Hunter

    Hybrid all day long !! I use an HHA four pin with a dial. 20/30/40/50. Dial after that using the top pin. With elk ( especially during the rut) the distances are always changing you need to be able adjust while at full draw after you range.

    Lots of elk in Wyoming use Blm and Private ag land year around. Going to the fields at night. You cut them off going to bed On blm/state in the morning.
