    Wrangler is better than orvis. I’ve got 4 pairs of the orvis and wore them daily last winter. The wrangler are Slightly heavier but seem to be stitched better. Got a couple of the Gerry pants on the way to try them.

    I certainly wouldnt throw shit in the pack just to take up space. Packs have cinch straps for a reason and lowering carry weight is way more important to me. A smaller pack maxed out may be harder to repack in the field, but you have to be cognizant when using a bigger pack not to bring more...
