It has a HNT26 chassis on it. First time using this chassis, but I do like it. This one is a folder with the built-in arca rail. If I got another one, it would be this same configuration.
I just got the Tricer LP head yesterday. Haven’t really tried it out at all. I was using the VA-5 for glassing. I use the Leofoto MA-30L for shooting. It is a bit of a pain to switch back and forth, but not bad if they are both arca
I would choose the Tricer. It is very sturdy. The revic seems like it is basically a rebranded Chinese tripod like a leofoto. The more research that I did, I’m happy that I went with the Tricer. I do also have a Slik 624.
Only possible downside to the Tricer is that the tunlocks are backwards...
I was not at pressure. I could probably get some more speed out of it. I just didn’t have much time to tinker, so I decided a node over 3000 fps was good enough. It does only have a 20” barrel, so bear that in mind.
Depends if the added velocity is worth it to you. If your creedmoor works for you, why change? I’ve never compared the two, but it can’t be very substantial.
I had a 6.5 PRC chambered earlier than planned for my girlfriend to use on an elk hunt. I was picking up a barreled action from my gunsmith and had mentioned the idea of having one made for next season. Low and behold, he had a spare action and a 20” proof on the shelf. Spun it up then and...
I was dead set on building a 20” 7mm-08. Even ordered Alpha Munitions brass for it. Ended up having a 6.5 PRC built instead. It will be used for elk as well and offers just a little bit more energy, so it made sense.
If I built a 6.5-284, I would certainly go with a long action. Doesn’t make...
I use Brooks Ghost for the road and Salomon Speedcross for trails. I figure no shoe is good at both. It can work, but not ideal. Even used the Salomon’s for a Spartan this year
