Big Agnes copper spur is a solid tent. My wife and i used one for years along with our two dogs. Not the lightest or fanciest but hard to argue the cost.

Boots for sure. I hunted with a backpacking backpack and just carried a contractor trash bag, lighter and cheaper than a dry bag. If you bone the meat it will fit in your pack no problem

I've been using a Rincon with my wife and often with our 2 dogs (80# and 25#). Used the nest until bugs were gone then added the stove. It's been great and I have no regrets. Heavy rain and wind with no issues.

As already stated, a tripod will greatly increase your ability with binos. Elk are big and as long as there aren't wild horses in your unit then a spotter probably isn't necessary. However necessary isn't always the reason to buy new gear is it

I always add 2 or 3 oz of extra water and soak 50% longer than package says with peak. However I’m generally at higher elevation. I also massage the bag a few times throughout the soak.

I purchased my first spotter this year and went with the ATC. I primarily back pack hunt and am a meat hunter. Anything larger wouldn't fit in my pack, especially as the weather changes
