    Maybe I had a bad/old one, but my Baleaf hoody breathed about as good as a garbage bag on an Alaska Death Hike. I’ve since switched the Sitka Core LW hoody and an OR Echo hoody and not looked back. I especially love the Sitka for the giant front zip to dump heat.

    Cost may be a big factor in the discussion, too. The Aquaquest you listed is affordable at $130, but comes in at over 2lbs (and looks like a condensation magnet when zipped). Granted that’s hardly “heavy”, but might be when you consider a bivy from Katabatic and tarp from Six Moons...

    I ran a 130 grain TTSX with great success out a 270. I’ve also had really great luck with something more frangible like a Berger (130 grain) on elk and deer out of the same gun.
